• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was partly cloudy, then cleared up this afternoon.  We had a high around 75F and windy.  It felt cooler because of the north-north-east winds blowing 20-30 mph, with gusts to 35 mph.

The Park Service closed Cape Point to off-road vehicle access, because of a turtle nest about to hatch.  The closed area begins about two-tenths of a mile south of Ramp 44, there is pedestrian access.  The closure should be temporary, about a week.

There were puppy drum and bluefish caught in Buxton today.  On the Frisco beach there were bluefish and sea mullet.  Hatteras beaches had bluefish, sea mullet, spot, croaker and puppy drum.

The inshore and offshore boats stayed at the docks today, due to all the wind and chop.
