    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had partly sunny skies with some rain showers.  The winds were from the north-east at 5-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 70’s.

    Tomorrow is the first day of the Ocracoke Island Surf Fishing Tournament.  Good Luck to all the participants.

    Today there were some blow toads and sea mullet caught on the Avon and Buxton beaches.  The Frisco beach had some puppy drum and sea mullet caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach a few bluefish and sea mullet reported.

    No boats fishing inshore.  Only a few boats out offshore today.  They had some good dolphin fishing and a few black fin tuna and wahoo reported.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had overcast skies.  The winds were from the north-east at 5-12 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 60’s.

    The fishing today was about the same as the past few days.  We had a few sea mullet, blow toads and bluefish.on the Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras beaches.

    The few boats fishing inshore had some decent puppy drum catches.  The offshore boats had a few yellowfin and blackfin tuna and some real good bottom fishing with big grouper and golden tilefish.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had rain showers off and on all day.  The winds were from the south at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 60’s.

    The fishing today was slow.  There were some bluefish and sea mullet caught on the Buxton beach today.  Over on the Frisco and Hatteras beaches sea mullet, bluefish and blow toads were reported.

    No boats out inshore or offshore today due to rough seas and stormy weather.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had a warm and mostly sunny day.  The winds were from the east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.

    The fishing today was decent with some nice bluefish caught on the Buxton beach. Blow toads and sea mullet were reported on the Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras beaches.

    The inshore boats had real good puppy drum fishing today.  The offshore boats had an exciting day with some billfish action.  Two blue marlin a white marlin and sailfish were released today.  A 58 lb grouper was brought up from the bottom.  Good dolphin fishing, a few blackfin tuna and some wahoos were caught along with amberjacks.  The picture below is the “Sea Creature” charter boat with their blue marlin catch today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a really nice day.  We had north-east winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 60’s.

    This morning at 8 am was the start of the 4 Plus 24hr Surf Fishing Tournament.  We hope all fisherman are having fun and are catching some fish which they seem to be doing.  We have a better sign of bluefish showing up on the Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras beaches.  The Frisco beach had catches of blowtoads and sea mullet and the Hatteras beach and sea mullet and puppy drum.

    No boats fishing inshore. Today the offshore boats had good catches of blackfin tuna, a few yellowfin tuna, some dolphin, wahoo and amberjack.  One sailfish was released and one mako shark was also caught.  The mako shark is pictured below from the “Bite Me” charter boat.
