Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

The Weather in Frisco was sunny and calm again today.  We had west winds switching to the south-west at 5 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.  The Avon and Buxton beaches were a little slow but some croakers were caught.  The Frisco beach is still producing some nice pompano and sea mullet.  Down on the Hatteras beaches a few bluefish were caught.  The inshore boats caught all the spanish mackerel you would want and some big red drum releases.  The  speckled trout bite was good too.  The offshore dolphin fishing was real good with a mix of gaffer and bailer size.  A few wahoo and blackfin tuna were caught and a blue marlin and white marlin were released. The offshore bottom fishing was pretty good with sea bass and triggerfish caught.  Jeff Wolgemuth caught this 33 lb dolphin while fishing out of Hatteras today.  Pretty work Jeff!!!

The Weather in Frisco was sunny and calm.  We had north-east winds at 5 mph with the temperatures in the upper 70’s.  The water on the Frisco and Hatteras beaches were nice and clear, which made for some real good pompano and sea mullet fishing at ramp 49 and 55.  The Inshore boats had good catches of speckled and gray trout.  The spanish mackerel and bluefish bite was real good just outside Hatteras Inlet.  The offshore boats caught good amounts of dolphin, bailer and gaffer size. Some nice triggerfish, sea bass, sanppers and a nice snowy grouper, which is pictured below from the “Godspeed” charter boat were brought up from the  bottom today.  Only a few marlin released today. One blue marlin, two white marlin and a sailfish.

    Happy Fathers Day!!!

The Weather in Frisco was sunny.  We had north-east winds 10-15 mph with some gusts to 20 mph.  The temperatures were in the low 80’s.  The weather has made the ocean a little bit rough so fishing was slow.  The Frisco beach had some sea mullet and some bluefish caught today.  That’s all I have heard today from the surf.  The inshore boats had excellent speckled trout fishing.  On the offshore report only a few dolphin caught today.

The Akois S-Line 757CT is a specialist larger reel which has many of the features of the 757CS but eliminates the level wind and sports a CT open frame for casting longer distances and relies on a proficient caster and centrifugal brakes to control the spool.  The Akois is similar to the Abu Garcia reels, they are great for surf casting to the big drum at Cape Point on Hatteras Island.

The Weather in Frisco was partly sunny and windy.  We had north-east winds 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.  The temperatures were in the mid 70’s.  The seas today were rough again and the fishing from the surf was slow.  Only some sea mullet over on the Frisco beach.  The inshore boats caught some speckle and gray trout.  One citation red drum was released.  The only boats fishing offshore today were the 63 that were eligible to fish the last day of The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament.  Two blue marlin were boated early but neither fish was large enough to meet the tournament minimum.  The “Release” boat out of Hatteras won the release division with 1700 pts.  The “Release” released three blue marlin and four white marlin on the four days they fished.  Congratulations to Capt Rom Whitaker and there crew, pretty work!!!  The “Fly Bouy” held on with there first day catch of 499.3 lb blue marlin to win the 54th Big Rock.  In second the “Inspiration” with there first day catch as well weighing 437.7 lbs.

The Weather in Frisco was partly sunny.   The winds were from the north at 10-20 mph with some gusts up to 30 mph.  The temperatures were in the low 70’s.  The low pressure over top of us is producing rough seas and few fish.  Only a few sea mullet caught over on the Frisco beach.  The only boats that fished offshore today were Big Rock Tournament guys.  Three boats actually fished today.  The “Swordfish” out of Hatteras was one of them and they were wet, salty and beat up but everyone made it back safe.  No billfish were caught and only a few dolphin were caught, so the standings have not changed.  Tomorrow is the last day of The Big Rock and 63 boats are eligible to fish.  We hope there is more billfish activity.
