• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today the weather in Frisco started out rainy, by the afternoon the winds were calm and the sun came out.  We had south-east winds 5-10 mph with a few gusts around 20 mph during the rain showers,  The temperatures were in the low 80’s.  It looks like Tropical Storm Beryl is going in to the Florida/ Georgia border and circling back to go offshore just below or on top of us on Hatteras Island by Wednesday mid day.  Of course that could all change by tomorrow. The big report of the day were lots of bluefish being caught on the Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras beaches and they were the big skinny bluefish. The inshore boats had good spanish mackerel and bluefish.  A few gray trout were also caught.  The offshore fleet had real good gaffer dolphin fishing, a few blackfin tuna and two white marlin and one blue marlin released.  Below the “Good Times” charter boat with their white marlin release.

Today the weather in Frisco was windy, sunny and warm.  We had east winds at 15-20 mph with some gusts to 30 mph.  The temperatures were in the low 80’s.  The beach fishing was pretty bad today.  With sub-tropical storm Beryl just south-east of us the winds are blowing and swells are up.  We sold a lot of bait today and the only catching that I know of were some bluefish on the Hatteras beach.  The inshore boats fished the Pamlico sound today and had some good catches of bluefish and a few gray and speckled trout.  The big drum made a showing today.  The “Hook Up ” charter boat released six citation red drum.  No boats fished offshore today thanks to “Beryl”.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today the weather in Frisco was overcast with a few short rain showers.  The winds were from the east at 10-20 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.  This low pressure just south-east of Cape Hatteras is undecided on what it wants to do.  The forecast are all over the board.  The next few days they are forecasting east winds switching to the south-east at 17-23 mph with 30-50% chance of showers.  The Avon and Buxton beaches were more productive today.  Some nice sea mullet and a few bigger bluefish were caught.  The only fish on the south beach today was flounder caught near the Frisco pier.  The inshore boats caught some nice gray trout and bluefish, also one cobia was brought back to the docks.  The offshore blue marlin bite was excellent today.  14 blue marlin were released, “Tuna Duck” released three and 11 other boats had one.  Some boats had multiples blue marlin in their spread.  Dolphin fishing was a little slow but some were caught.  A few nice wahoo and blackfin tuna were caught as well.  Below the “Bite Me” blue marlin est. 500 lbs getting ready for release.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

The weather in Frisco was warm today.  We had sunny skies and east south-east winds at 5-15 mph with the temperatures in the mid 80’s.  The weather was great today and the water was clear on both sides.  The Buxton beach had some nice bluefish, big and small ones.  A few sea mullet were also caught.  The Frisco and Hatteras beaches had some good pompano and sea mullet fishing.  The inshore boats had a good day of spanish mackerel and bluefish.  No cobias caught but there were some spotted.  The offshore gaffer dolphin bite slowed a little today.  There were still a handful caught though.  The big news was all the blue marlin that showed to the party.  I think there were five blue marlin released and several that crashed baits throughout the fleet and one spearfish release.  The picture below is aboard the “Sea Creature” charter boat of a estimated 700 lb blue marlin that they released.  They also released another blue marlin and spearfish.
