• Hatteras Beach Pompano

    Jackie Barnett of Frisco caught these five pompano off the Hatteras beach today.  The biggest was 2 lbs 3 ozs.  Nice Catch!!!


  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    Today in Frisco was a little cooler but plenty of sunshine.  We had north-east winds 5-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.  The Avon beach had some nice sea mullet and a few puppy drum.  Out at Cape Point some big bluefish were caught.  The Frisco beaches had a few bluefish and puppy drum.  Over ramp 55 in Hatteras there were some big bluefish caught.  The inshore boats had good bluefish and spanish mackerel fishing.  A 46″ red drum was released and a few cobia were also caught.  The offshore fishing was real good today.  Lots of gaffer dolphin, a few wahoo and blackfin tuna.  One white marlin was released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    Today in Frisco the sun was shining.  We had north-west winds switching to the  east at 10-20 mph with gusts in the upper 20’s.  The temperatures were in the mid 70’s.  Some puppy drum were caught on the Avon beaches along with a few sea mullet.  The Frisco beaches were pretty good with some big bluefish, croaker and a few pompano.  The inshore boats had some good bluefish and spanish mackerel fishing.  There were a few cobia’s caught today as well.  Fishing offshore was not quite as good as yesterday, but still pretty decent gaffer dolphin fishing, a few wahoo, some blackfin tuna and a nice snowy grouper.   Below a picture of the catch from the “Release” charter boat including the 35 lb snowy grouper.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    Today in Frisco we had sunny skies and warm temperatures.  The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph with gusts to 20 mph.  The Buxton beaches have had sea mullet and bluefish.  Just over the ramps in Buxton some puppy drum and big bluefish were caught.  Out at Cape Point this evening they have already caught over 10 big drum and a cobia was caught there this morning.  The Frisco beach has had big bluefish and some puppy drum.  The beaches out at Hatteras have had big bluefish and sea mullet.  The inshore boats had some gray trout and bluefish.  The offshore fleet had a excellent day.  Lots of gaffer dolphin, some citation wahoo, the biggest was 80 lbs, citation blackfin tuna, trigger fish and one boat caught five cobia on the back in from offshore.  The billfish bite was scattered but there were blue marlin, sailfish and a spearfish released today.  Below are some pictures of the “Bite Me” spearfish coming out of the water and the group photo of their citations, an 80 lb wahoo and 36 lb dolphin.  Pretty work guys and girl.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    Today in Frisco we had sunny skies.  The winds were from the south at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.  The Buxton beaches had some sea mullet and and bluefish, big and small.  Over the ramps in Buxton there were some puppy drum and a big drum caught.  The Frisco beaches were a little grassy, only some bluefish were caught.  I did hear a report of a small cobia caught from the beach in Frisco.  The inshore boats had good bluefish catches and some gray trout.  The offshore fleet had real good gaffer dolphin and there were two billfish released, a white marlin and sailfish.  Below is a nice gaffer dolphin caught aboard the “Sea Creature”  charter boat yesterday.
