Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

This morning was overcast.  By mid morning the sun came out and the winds were from the west at 10 mph. The temperatures were in the low 70’s.  No big drum caught last night.  They must have been out of casting range.  The blow toads and sea mullets were biting pretty good from Cape Point to Hatteras.  The Point seemed to be a little better.  The blackfin tuna fishing was excellent again today.  A larger class of blackins were caught, up to 30 lbs. Some gaffer dolphin and a few wahoo.  One wahoo was a citation 40 lbs.

Another warm day with a few rain showers.  We had south-west winds 10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.  Around Cape Point today there were blow toads, bluefish and some big sharks and skates.  The big drum should be biting at Cape Point tonight.  With a south-west wind and the inshore boats catching around 30 today just off the Point chances are good.  The offshore bite was pretty good today.  Good catches of blackfin tuna up to 26 lbs and some nice size gaffer dolphin with some wahoo’s mixed in.  Yesterday a private boat released a blue marlin.  A stud 60 lb dolphin was caught out of Hatteras today.  Below is the picture from Odens Dock.

Today was another sunny and warm day.  We had south-west winds 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.  The beach report is similar to the past few days.  There are still lots of blow toads from Cape Point south to Hatteras.  The sea mullets are being caught around Cape Point along with some bluefish.  The Inshore boats had a nice catch of big drum, up to 11 were released.  The offshore fleet had good yellowfin tuna fishing way up to the east and the closer boats caught a nice mess of blackfin tuna, a few dolphin and wahoo.   There were some bluefin tuna spotted but no hookups.  Below a nice wahoo catch from the “Godspeed” charter boat.

This morning we had rain showers.  By mid day the sun came out and the day was really nice.  We had light south-west winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.  Today the beaches from Cape Point south had good catches of blow toads.  Also  as I type the big drum are biting at Cape Point.  Another fun fishing fact, today we had a report of a good number of cobia caught within three miles of Hatteras Beach by a drop netter.  We have a lot going on and our spring fishing season looks awesome.  It’s a good time to come to Hatteras Island.   The offshore fleet caught some nice gaffer dolphin, some blackfin tuna and amberjacks today.  A couple boats headed way up the line to where the bluefin tuna are,  some big fish were up there.  Some in the 89 inch range were caught.  The top water popping plugs are still working and some on the troll too.
