• Outer Banks Fishing Report 1-27

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today started off windy and rainy.  The weather cleared late in the afternoon.  We had periods of heavy rain and south-west winds a 20-30 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 60’s.  No reports of any kind from the surf or offshore due to the horrible weather.  Tomorrow will be really nice with light north winds switching to the south and the temperatures are going to be in the low 60’s.  Boats will be fishing for the bluefin tuna tomorrow.  Hopefully I will have some good reports for you.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today was beautiful with sunny skies and warm temperatures.  The winds were from the south south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 60’s.  The weather is  supposed to get worse late tonight and continue tomorrow.  The winds are going to increase to 20-30 mph by mid day with possible gusts to 40 mph.  They are also calling for rainfall most of the morning and some in the afternoon.  The temperatures will be in the mid 60’s.  We have had zero reports from the surf today.  I bet some dog sharks were caught on cut bait around Cape Point though.  The offshore boats had some decent blackfin tuna, trigger fish and amberjacks on the vertical jig tackle.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today was mostly sunny and calm.  We had light north-east winds 10 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 50’s. Not much to report from the surf.  The reports have been the same, just some scattered speckled trout on the north beaches and Cape Point is still holding dog sharks and skates.   The offshore action is pretty good.  There are still blackfin tuna being caught on the vertical jigs and a few yellowfin tuna on trolling tackle.  We had a few boats go up to the east in search of the bluefin tuna today.  They found plenty of bluefin tuna busting the surface on bait but they would not bite the vertical jigging tackle. There were about three caught on trolling tackle between the Oregon inlet and Hatteras fleets.
