• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    The Weather in Frisco was sunny today with some early rain showers early.  We had south-east winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were 90 degrees.  The Buxton beach  had reports of sea mullet and spot.  On the Frisco and Hatteras beaches there were citation sea mullet caught and a few pompano.  The inshore boats caught some speckled and gray trout along with a few bluefish.  The offshore boats had good catches of dolphin, a few wahoo and scattered blackfin tuna.  The “Islander” boat released two white marlin and a blue marlin.  The bottom fishing was pretty good today. Tilefish, sea bass, grouper and triggerfish were all brought back to the dock.

    Tomorrow is the last day of the Tax Free weekend for North Carolina.  Come by and take advantage of this offer.

    Brient Jackson of Frisco NC caught this 1 lb 9oz citation sea mullet on the Frisco beach today.  He also caught some pompano.  Pretty Work!!!

    Barry Hall of Blacksburg VA caught this citation sea mullet weighing 1 lb 13oz over on the Frisco beach today.  Pretty work Barry!!!


  • Cape Point is Open to Off Road Traffic

    We have good news to report today.  The famous Cape Point is back open to all traffic.      The fish are biting and the weather is nice so it’s a great time to be on Hatteras Island.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    The Weather in Frisco was sunny with calm winds again today.  We had south winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.  We received good news today.  Cape Point opened to ORV’s and the fishing was really good.  Lots of sharks, spanish mackerel and bluefish being caught.  Some sea mullet and flounder were biting well too.  The Frisco beach had reports of bluefish and some sea mullet.  The Hatteras beaches also had bluefish and sea mullet with a few flounders.  The inshore boats had good catches of spanish mackerel and bluefish.  Decent catches of speckled and gray trout and big red drum.  The offshore fleet had a bunch of wahoo, real good dolphin and some blackfin tuna.  The bottom fishing was good too.  Catches of tilefish, sea bass, triggerfish and grouper were reported.  Below is a nice 42 lb snowy grouper aboard the “Bite Me”.
