    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    We hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving!!!

    Today was beautiful with lots of sunshine. The winds were from the north-west at 5 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 50’s.  Tonight the winds are supposed to switch to the south-west and stay calm like today.  The Buxton beach is still producing a few speckled trout and sea mullet.  Out at Cape Point there were sharks and a few puppy drum caught.  The Frisco and Hatteras beaches had few blow toads, sea mullet and bluefish today.  The offshore live bait king mackerel fishing was excellent today, limits by all who fished.  A few nice wahoo were landed also.  The biggest was 61 lbs.  The yellowfin tuna showed up again today too.

  • HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Outer Banks Fishing Report 11-24

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    Happy Thanksgiving to all of our customers.  The FRG Staff hopes you get plenty of turkey and spends lots of time with family!!!

    The weather today was windy but plenty of sunshine.  We had north winds at 15-20 mph and temperatures were in the mid 50’s.  Tonight the wind is supposed to drop out to 5 mph so tomorrow should be a real nice day to be out on the beach or boat.  Cape Point today had lots of sharks and  few bluefish.  Down on the Frisco beach we had catches of bluefish, blow toads and a few black drum and sea mullet.  Around the Frisco Pier a few speckled trout were reported.  No boats out today due the windy conditions.  Thanksgiving Day we closed at 2 pm.  We will be back open on Friday morning at 6 am to 9 pm on our regular schedule.

  • Outer Banks Fishing Report 11-23

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    Today was rainy and windy most of the morning.  We had south-west winds 20-30 mph and the temperatures around 70 degrees.  The winds are supposed to switch to the north-west and still be gusting to 30 mph. Pretty rough fishing today with all the wind. Up on the Avon beach a little bit grass was making fishing tough.  On the Buxton beach just up from Cape Point a big drum was reported in the upper 40 inch range.  At Cape Point some puppy drum and a few sea mullet were caught.  The Frisco Beach had a few scattered catches of small bluefish, sea mullet and blow toads.  No boats out today due to very windy weather.  Tomorrow on Thanksgiving Day we will open from 6 am to 2 pm and then on Friday we are back to our normal 6 am to 9 pm schedule.

  • Outer Banks Fishing Report 11-22

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    Well today was about like yesterday.  We had sunny skies and light north-east winds around 5 mph.  The temperatures were in the upper 60’s.  The winds are supposed to switch to the south-east and increase to 15-25 mph and rain showers are likely after midnight and tomorrow.  The Buxton beach had lots of blow toads, a few small bluefish and speckled trout.  Cape Point had few puppy drum and sharks.  The Frisco beach had lots of blow toads, small bluefish and a few sea mullet.  Down on the Hatteras beaches there were some small bluefish and sea mullet caught.  Offshore today the king mackerel fishing was as good as it gets.  Limits of kings for everyone who fished.  A few dolphin and wahoo were also reported.

  • Outer Banks Fishing Report 11-21

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    Today was another sunny day with light winds  We had north-east winds at 5 mph switching to the south-east at 5 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 60’s.  Around the Buxton beaches there were some gray and speckled trout caught.  At Cape Point there were 2 big drum caught over 40 inches. One early in the morning and one in the afternoon.  On the Frisco and Hatteras beaches there are still some blow toads, sea mullet and bluefish being reported.  The offshore fishing was a little slower today.  The king mackerel bite was pretty good.  There were a few wahoo and yellowfin tuna and scattered catches of blackfin tuna and dolphin.  No boats fished inshore today.
