Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

The weather in Frisco was warm today.  We had sunny skies and east south-east winds at 5-15 mph with the temperatures in the mid 80’s.  The weather was great today and the water was clear on both sides.  The Buxton beach had some nice bluefish, big and small ones.  A few sea mullet were also caught.  The Frisco and Hatteras beaches had some good pompano and sea mullet fishing.  The inshore boats had a good day of spanish mackerel and bluefish.  No cobias caught but there were some spotted.  The offshore gaffer dolphin bite slowed a little today.  There were still a handful caught though.  The big news was all the blue marlin that showed to the party.  I think there were five blue marlin released and several that crashed baits throughout the fleet and one spearfish release.  The picture below is aboard the “Sea Creature” charter boat of a estimated 700 lb blue marlin that they released.  They also released another blue marlin and spearfish.

With its scalloped face and central towing point, the lure has just the right amount of wiggle and weave to drive all species mad.  The big blue marlin are showing up in force here off of Hatteras Island NC.  Be ready with one of the best marlin baits, the Bonze lure.

The weather in Frisco was nice and sunny today.  We had thunderstorms just offshore but they never seemed to affect us.  We had north-east winds at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were around 80 degrees.  The Buxton beaches had some croaker, sea mullet and a few puppy drum.  The Frisco and Hatteras beaches had some good pompano and sea mullet fishing.  Capt Doug Martin on the “Hallelujah” charter boat had my father in law and I fishing inshore today.  We had excellent gray trout fishing and caught good amounts of bluefish, some tautogs, a triggerfish and some black sea bass, which we had to throw back.  The offshore boats had excellent gaffer dolphin fishing and few blackfin tuna.  Below the “Little Clam” charter boat with its catch of dolphin, groupers, snapper, triggerfish and tile fish.  Bottom fish are some of the best eating fish.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today in Frisco the weather was partly cloudy with a few light rain showers.  We had north-east winds 5-15 mph until about 5 pm and the wind went calm.  The temperatures were in the low 70’s.  Tropical Storm Alberto is expected to be impacting us by Tuesday with mainly some rough surf conditions.  It looks like Alberto is pushing further off the coast, which will be good for us. The Avon and Buxton beaches were pretty rough and the water was dirty, so no fish were reported.  The Frisco beach was nice, clear water and pompano and sea mullet were caught.  Some sea mullet  were reported down on the Hatteras beach.  The inshore boats had good gray trout and some big red drum releases.  The offshore gaffer dolphin fishing was excellent.  A few wahoo, some big sharks and a white marlin was released.  Below the “Hatteras Fever II” charter boat with their white marlin release.
