• 8-20-11 Outer Banks Fishing Report

    Here is your Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    Today was once again nice and sunny.  We had light south-east winds at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low to mid 80’s.  There were lots of small pompano on the south beach. Bluefish and spanish mackerel at the point using lures . Some citation sea mullet on the Hatteras beaches.  None of the inshore boats fished but there was good dolphin fishing offshore. Several nice wahoo were caught with fish up to 40 lbs. The fleet out of Hatteras Harbor reported 5 sailfish released.

    Robert Kilgore caught this 1lb 15 oz citation Sea Mullet on the south beach using sand fleas. Pretty work, Robert!


  • 8-19-11 Outer Banks Fishing Report

    Here is your Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    The weather was sunny and nice today.  Light south-east winds at 7 mph and temperatures were in the mid 60’s.  There were lots of small pompano on the south beach and nice citation size sea mullet below ramp 55. The point had a good run of bluefish and spanish mackerel this morning.
    The inshore boats had good catches of bluefish, spanish mackerel , gray trout, and speckled trout.
    Offshore dolphin fishing was good but wahoo were only fair.

  • 8-18-11 Outer Banks Fishing Report

    Here is your Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    Sunny skies today with light south-east winds at 10 mph switching to the south-west at 10 mph.  Temperatures were in the mid 80’s.  There were lots of pompano on the south beach and in Avon but little else was reported.
    The inshore boats had good spanish mackerel, bluefish, speckled trout and gray trout.
    Offshore the dolphin fishing was excellent and the wahoo bite was good. Hatteras Harbor had four sailfish released.

  • 8-17-11 Outer Banks Fishing Report

    Here is your Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    It was such a nice day.  Sunny skies, light north-east winds at 10 mph and temperatures in the low 80’s.  The Buxton beach had some scattered catches of sea mullet, spot and bluefish.  At Cape Point they still are catching bluefish and spanish mackerel on lures in the morning and evening.  On the Frisco beach a few pompano and sea mullet were caught.  Some nice flounder are showing up around the remains of the Frisco Pier.  Down on the Hatteras beaches the same report as Frisco, scattered pompano and sea mullet.  The Hatteras Inlet fishing is best in the morning and evening throwing lures at the blue fish and spanish mackerel.  Inshore boats reported a good day with limits of spanish mackerel, some nice bluefish, speckled trout, flounder, 1 big red drum release and a 40 lb cobia.  Offshore fishing was real good.  Some dolphin limits, a few gaffers, wahoo and some blackfin tuna.  One blue marlin and five sail fish released from the fleet.


  • 8-16-11 Outer Banks Fishing Report

    Here is your Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    It was a little cooler today.  Sunny skies and north-west winds 5-10 mph and temperatures in the mid 80’s.  Beach fishing was slow today with a few nice Puppy Drum. We had reports from Hatteras to Avon with a mix of Flounder, Blues, Pompano, Sea Mullet and a few Spanish mackerel.Inshore reported some nice Flounder and Blues.Offshore had Good dolphin fishing, wahoo, and a White Marlin released.
