Here is your Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks fishing report for Hatteras Island.

The weather today was decent. South West winds at 10-15 mph for the better part of the day. Winds have just started switching to the east within the last hour or so. Temperatures were in the upper 80s to lower 90s again.

Beach Fishing was pretty decent again. Lots of bluefish and spanish mackerel at the point early on. Also a decent sea mullet and spot bite on the south beach.

Inshore charter guides had a little improvement from yesterday. Reports of good bluefish and speckled trout bites came from Hatteras Harbor Marina.

Offshore charters had a day to remember. The billfish bite was unbelievable. A total of 19 sailfish were caught out of Hatteras Harbor. Bite Me landed 11, Native Son 4, Tuna Duck 3, and Hatteras Fever landed 1. Teach’s Lair Marina  had one boat, “Hattitude” with 10 sail fish releases. There was also an unbelievable wahoo bite as multiple boats reported 10 or more wahoo caught. And yet again, the dolphin bite was still going strong. There were also reports of barracuda releases.

The wind is supposed to blow 5-10 mph out of the south-east tomorrow. Temperatures are expected to be in the high 80’s to low 90’s again and there is supposed to be a 50% chance of rain.

With the wind laying down tomorrow, the fishing should be enjoyable.

The weather was nice and sunny today.  More south-west winds at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.  The cape at Buxton had another good day of bluefish and a few spanish mackerel on metal.  A few sea mullet and spot were mixed in also.  The Frisco beach was a little slow. The water is a little dirty still.  Only a few sea mullet and bluefish.  Down at Hatteras Inlet the blues were biting good on cut bait and metal.  Inshore the spanish mackerel and bluefish bite was good.  Decent speckled trout fishing in the sound.  Offshore limits of dolphin caught, real good wahoo and a few blackfin tuna.  Good sail fishing, about 8 sails were released.

The weather was a little rough today. For most of the day we had showers with a pretty decent thunderstorm in the middle of the night. The wind blew out of the south-west at 10-15 mph and temperatures were in the high 80’s to low 90’s.Beach Fishing was actually pretty good today despite the weather. North beach reported lots of black tip sharks along with good catches of spanish mackerel and bluefish at the point. South beach also had some catches of black tips today, as well as flounder, pompano, and sea mullet. The inlet reported nice catches of bluefish with spanish mackerel mixed in.

Inshore charters reported limits of speckled trout, keeper drum, and bluefish.

Offshore charters had a decent day even though no billfish were caught. There was a really good dolphin bite, most boats limited out.

Tomorrow sounds promising for the beaches. The wind is supposed to lay down tonight and switch directions to north at 5-10 mph. Hopefully with the wind change the south beach will clear up and pompano and sea mullet will really start biting again. We are also supposed to have sunny skies with temperatures in the low 90’s.
