• Outer Banks Fishing Report 1-31

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today was sunny and warm with light wind.  The winds were from the west north-west at 10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 60’s.  As nice of a day it was we sure were slow and no one we talked to today were going or coming from fishing.  The offshore fishing has been pretty good.  Until the bluefin tuna really start showing up or on the weekends not that many charters are booked this time of year, so we have no report for  today.

This Williamson Jet Popper will work great for those bluefin tunas.  They have 300 lb. built-in swivels that allow perfect rotation and eliminate leverage. The deep cup face for extra loud “Popping” effect and jet holes create a massive bubble trail.  The unique design allows greater casting distance and stability on retrieve. The flash foil inside sends attractor signals and has ultra-strong “Oval” split-ring with 6X VMC “Fish Fighter” hooks attached.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today started off cool and sunny.  We had north-west winds at 10-15 mph, decreasing to 5 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 50’s.  The report seems to be about the same almost every day from the surf.  There are scattered speckled trout on the Buxton and Avon beaches and plenty of sharks and skates from Cape Point  south to Hatteras Inlet.  The offshore fishing has been decent when the boats are going out.  Decent yellowfin tuna and real good blackfin tuna being caught.  As you all may know the date in which the ORV final rule goes into effect is February 15th.  Permits will be required to drive on the beach.  Below are links to see information about the final rule for ORVs.

Today started off windy and rainy.  The weather cleared late in the afternoon.  We had periods of heavy rain and south-west winds a 20-30 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 60’s.  No reports of any kind from the surf or offshore due to the horrible weather.  Tomorrow will be really nice with light north winds switching to the south and the temperatures are going to be in the low 60’s.  Boats will be fishing for the bluefin tuna tomorrow.  Hopefully I will have some good reports for you.
