Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today the weather in Frisco was great again.  We had south-west winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.  The Avon Pier had some good spanish mackerel and bluefish caught.  The Buxton beach was a little slower with only a few bluefish and flounder.  Over ramp 49 in Frisco and ramp 55 in Hatteras there are still some nice spanish mackerel and bluefish being caught with a few pompano and sea mullet mixed in.  The inshore boats had some excellent spanish mackerel and bluefish today.  A few gray and speckled trout were also reported.  Today the offshore fleet had good dolphin fishing and a few nice wahoo with a couple of blackfin tuna mixed in.  The “Tuna Duck” released a blue and a white marlin today.  They were not fishing The Big Rock Tournament.  But the billfish action was hot today for the 54th Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament.  19 blue marlin, 8 white and 3 sailfish were released.  The “Flybouy” brought in the only boated marlin weighing in at 499.3 lbs to take the lead in the largest blue marlin category.  Today was only the first day of fishing, they have 5 more day to go.  Below is the “Flybouy” with there catch from Big Rock Landing.
