Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

The Weather in Frisco was partly sunny with a few rain showers.  The winds were from the south south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the lower 80’s.  Fishing was slow today with only some bluefish on the Buxton beaches and some spanish mackerel down on the Hatteras beach.  The spanish mackerel fishing inshore was excellent today.  A few bluefish were also caught.  The offshore bite for the charter boats were slow, so slow some guys came in early to catch all the spanish mackerel for some action.  A few dolphin and couple of really nice wahoo’s were caught by some boats.  The biggest wahoo was 69 lbs.  Some guys did some botttom fishing in the deep and caught some grouper and tilefish, both are really good to eat.  The second day of The Big Rock Tournament was filled with billfish action but not as busy as yesterday.  The fleet released 9 blue marlins, 8 white marlins, one sailfish and one hatchet marlin today.  The “Inspiration” brought to the dock a 437.7 lb blue marlin to take second place in The Big Rock Tournament.
