Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

The Weather in Frisco was mostly sunny and the swell from tropical storm Leslie is still here.  We had south-west winds 10-15 mph with some gusts to 20 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.  The Avon beach had some sea mullet, bluefish, croaker and spot.  The Buxton beach reported puppy drum, pompano and bluefish.  Out at Cape Point the spanish mackerel and bluefish bite was off and on and there were pompano and sea mullet caught.  Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet, pompano and bluefish were reported.  The Hatteras beaches had puppy drum, sea mullet and spot.  The inshore boats had a few speckled and gray trout and some puppy drum.  Only a few boats fishing offshore.  A few wahoo and a few dolphin were reported with some blackfin tuna mixed in.  One Sailfish released today out of Hatteras.  Tomorrow is the first day of the Hatteras Village Civic Association Surf Fishing Tournament.  This is a two-day event and we hope everyone has a great time and catches plenty of fish.
