Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

The Weather in Frisco was mostly sunny and the swell from tropical storm Leslie was a little bigger today.  We had south-east winds switching to the south-west at 5-15 mph with some gusts to 23 mph.  The temperatures were in the upper 80’s.  The Avon beaches had some spot, sea mullet, pompano and a few bluefish.  The Buxton beach reported bluefish, small puppy drum and spot.  Out at Cape Point a few spanish mackerel and bluefish were caught.  The Frisco and Hatteras beaches had a variety of small fish caught in the Hatteras Village Civic Association Surf Fishing Tournament.  Small bluefish, spot, sea mullet, croaker and puppy drum.  The inshore boats caught bluefish, speckled and gray trout and some keeper puppy drum.  The offshore boats had real good wahoo fishing and scattered blackfin tuna and dolphin.  Some nice grouper and tile fish were brought up from the bottom.  One sailfish released and one boat released 3 blue marlin.
