Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island. We had another beautiful sunny day with calm winds.  The winds were from the north at 5 mph and the temperatures were in the low 60’s. Our sand road at Mirlo Beach is still passable and could be all weekend with the forecast of light winds and the ocean swell much smaller.

Fishing was slow again today.  There were a few black drum and sea mullet caught on the Buxton beach.  Out at Cape Point there were sharks and skates reported.  On the Frisco beach a few puppy drum were caught.  On the Hatteras beach some puppy drum and a few bluefish were reported..

Only a few boats fished offshore today.  They caught a few  nice yellowfin tuna to the east and a few nice wahoo to the south.

shimano symetre reelShimano’s five-component Propulsion Line Management System virtually eliminates line twist. The new Symetre FJ spinning reels are great for ultralight saltwater use and would be a great choice for speckled trout and puppy drum fishing this winter here on Hatteras Island.
