Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had sunny skies with light winds and little humidity.  The winds were from the north-east at 5 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

On the Avon and Buxton beaches some sea mullet, pompano, croaker and spot were reported.   Out at Cape Point the spanish mackerel and bluefish bite was pretty good today.  The Frisco beach over Ramp 49 had spot and a puppy drum caught.  Down on the Hatteras beaches near the inlet there were flounder, bluefish, a few sea mullet and puppy drum.

The inshore boats had another good puppy drum fishing.  A few keeper flounder and good speckled and gray trout were reported.

The offshore boats had real good wahoo fishing with several citations. Good dolphin catches with scattered catches of black fin tuna and king mackerel.
