Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

The sun was shining today! The winds were south-west 10-20 mph picking up later in the day. The temperatures were around 70 today.

The fishing was great today even with all the wind. From the beach in Avon there was bluefish, sea-mullet, trout, croakers, and blow toads. In Buxton the bluefish and sharks were biting. Fishing around the pier in Frisco today there was a few black drum caught and the blues were biting. In Hatteras there was some sea-mullet, bluefish, and blow toads caught.

Late last night Eddie Sumrell caught this 5.5 pound puppy drum just off ramp 49 using shrimp on a bluefish rig.

For the inshore boats there was good drum fishing just off the beach near the point.

Offshore the winds didn’t stop the fishing. The blackfin and yellowfin tuna were biting good along with a scattered gaffer dolphin. From the bottom there was black sea bass and silver snapper caught.
