Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
Today we had beautiful, clear skies and a high of 79F. The winds were out of the southeast this morning and switched to the southwest this afternoon, blowing around 10 mph.
Another beautiful day to be on the beach. Avon had catches of sea mullet and small bluefish. Buxton is reporting sea mullet and small bluefish as well. Frisco had some blow toads and a lost striper. Pictured below is Justin Revere and son Grayson with the 40 inch “lost boy”, caught with a sandflea. They were fishing for sea mullet. Hatteras had catches of flounder, small bluefish and sea mullet.
The inshore fishing is about to heat up…Cobia have arrived! There were a couple caught today, the biggest weighing in at 62lbs. There were also bluefish and some mackerel. Pictured below is Team Dempsey with the 62lber and the 2nd picture is Tightline Charters with and nice one and some mackerel to go with. Way to start the season off!!
The offshore boats had excellent dolphin fishing today, with some wahoo mixed in. There were a few blackfin tuna mixed in as well. Pictured below is The Big Eye with a full box and the Runaway Sportsfishing with a couple of dolphin hooked. (beautiful colors)
