• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    The high today was almost 90 but it was beautiful. Winds were gentle to moderate around 10mph for the majority of the day. Currently it feels like 84 with winds out of the SSE around 9mph. Tomorrow’s temps and winds are looking similar to today but remember to stay protected from the sun because the UV index gets high. We have plenty of UV shirts to choose from and multiple options for sunscreen here in the shop!

    Surf catches included Red Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, and Bluefish.

    We didn’t get a report from the soundside today but if you catch anything stop by and let us know!

    Inshore boats filled their coolers with Speckled Trout, Red Drum, Spanish Mackerel, and Bluefish.

    Offshore boats brought in Dolphin, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, and bottomfish (Tilefish and Triggerfish). There were Sailfish and Blue Marlin releases too.

    We had some rain this morning but thankfully it was light and turned into sprinkles. High only got up to 80. Winds were fairly gentle today. Currently it feels like 77 with winds out of the ENE around 4.5mph. Tomorrow’s weather is looking more promising.

    No report from the surf or sound. If you catch anything come in and let us know!

    Inshore boats brought in Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Spadefish, and Gray Trout.

    Offshore boats came back with Dolphin, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, and bottomfish (Triggerfish, Tilefish, Grouper). There were some billfish releases as well – 2 White Marlin, 1 Blue Marlin, 1 Sailfish.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Despite the rain we had this morning, it turned out to be a nice day. The high was 82 and the winds were out of the NE/NNE for most of the day. It currently feels like 76 with 6mph wind out of the ENE.

    Report from the surf was Red Drum, Sea Mullet, Bluefish, and Pompano. Drum and Blues were caught around Ramp 38 while the Mullet and Pomps were caught around Ramps 49 and 55. There was also some Spanish Mackerel caught around Ramp 44.

    Sound – no report from the sound that we heard of.

    Inshore boats brought in Red Drum and Bluefish.

    Offshore – due to the weather this morning, the big boats stayed at the docks.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Today’s high was 86. It was definitely warm today but it was beautiful. Winds turned out to be gentle to moderate and mostly out of the SW/SSW. The wind is currently out of the SW around 11.5mph with gusts up to 16mph. We’re in for some rain so don’t forget to pack rain gear tomorrow!

    We heard of Pompano, Sheepshead, Bluefish, Red Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Flounder, and Sea Mullet being caught.

    Inshore boats brought in Red Drum, Spanish Mackerel, and Bluefish.

    Offshore boats caught Dolphin, Wahoo, and Barracuda. There were several billfish releases – 2 Blue Marlin, 1 White Marlin, and 1 Sailfish.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    The high was 88 with mostly gentle winds today. Winds started out of the ENE, switched to ESE, and are now out of the S at about 8mph. Tomorrow is looking to be pretty similar to today with a high around 85 and a little stronger winds. Tides and swell may not look intense but always be careful and mindful of your surroundings. Remember we also carry floatation devices!

    Saw some Red Drum caught in the surf but haven’t heard much from else from the surf or sound. But the fish are still there! If you catch anything pop into the shop and let us know!

    Inshore boats got Red Drum, Amberjack, and Clams with their parties.

    Offshore boats put Dolphin, Wahoo, and Blackfin Tuna in their coolers. There was a caught Blue Marlin and a released White Marlin.
