• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    The high today was 84 with pretty gentle winds all day. Winds stayed between 3 and 10mph out of the NE/NNE for most of the day. Currently it’s blowing about 3.5mph out of the E. Overall, a beautiful day but remember when the UV index is at it’s peak (1pm) and stay hydrated and covered. In the shop we have multiple options for sunscreen and/or sun shirts and hats.

    Red Drum, Sea Mullet, and Pompano were caught in the surf.

    Speckled Trout and Red Drum were caught in the sound.

    Inshore boats brought in Red Drum, Sheepshead, and Clams.

    Offshore brought in Dolphin, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, and bottomfish.

    Today was a bit cooler with a high of 80. Winds were light to moderate out of the NNE/NE. Currently it feels like 73 with 5mph winds out of the NE. Tomorrow is expected to be very similar to today in both temps and winds.

    Surfside catches included Pompano and Red Drum.

    Soundside catches included Red Drum and Speckled Trout.

    Inshore boats caught Red Drum and Speckled Trout this morning then Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel this afternoon.

    Offshore boats caught Wahoo, Dolphin, and Blackfin Tuna. There was one Sailfish release.

    The high today was 84. Winds were light to gentle all day. It started out of the NE, switched around a bit, and is now out of the NE around 7mph. Tomorrow’s temperatures and wind speeds are looking to be similar to today.

    We had a citation sized Speckled Trout come into the store that was caught in the sound.

    Surf catches included Red Drum, Sea Mullet, Sheepshead, Pompano, Bluefish, and Spanish Mackerel.

    Inshore boats filled coolers with Bluefish, Red Drum, and Speckled Trout.

    Offshore boats loaded their coolers with Amberjack, Grouper, Tilefish, Wahoo, Dolphin, and Blackfin Tuna.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Today had a high of 84. It was a nice day into the evening before the showers started. Winds were light to moderate and out of the SW/SSW/S for the majority of the day. It switched up again and it’s currently out of the NNW around 5mph with gusts up to 19mph. Looks like the rain has come and gone this go around but it sure was pouring earlier.

    No report from the surf or sound came into the shop today.

    Offshore boats caught Amberjack, Triggerfish, Wahoo, Dolphin, and Blackfin Tuna.

    Inshore boats caught Red Drum, Bluefish, Speckled Trout, and Spanish Mackerels. There were also some Sharks caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Today’s high got up to 86. Winds have been gentle today switching around from the E to SE to SSE. Currently it feels like 77 with winds around 8mph out of the SSE. Tomorrow’s winds are looking to be gentle like today but switched to the S/SW and temperatures are predicted to be nearly the same.

    Surf side catches included Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and Sheepshead.

    Soundside catches included Speckled Trout.

    Offshore boats had an in between day. Some got fish and some got nothing. Brought back to the docks were Dolphin and Wahoo. There was a few billfish releases.

    Inshore boats brought in Spanish Mackerel, Red Drum, Sheepshead, and Clams. Additionally, there was a Tarpon release.
