• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had cloudy skies with some rain off and on. The winds were from the south at 14-19 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 70’s.

    Up on the Avon pier Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish were reported. Out at Cape Point in Buxton a few Puppy Drum and Bluefish were caught.  Frisco beach a few sea mullet  were reported.

    Josh Pruitt from Berlin, MD caught a 26 inch Red Drum by ramp 32.

    The offshore boats caught Dolphin,  Blackfin Tuna and a few Blue Marlin were released.

    The inshore boats found some Puppy Drum, Spanish Mackerel, and Bluefish.

    AFTCO tapered Fiberglass Gaffs feature special thick-walled, super strong, yet lightweight E-glass handle construction, custom-designed for extreme strength and rigidity.  All of our fiberglass handles are rolled on proprietary mandrels using specific tapers developed by AFTCO, and are fitted in our factory with the same stainless steel hooks used in our popular Taper-Tip Aluminum Gaffs.  Our exclusive “wedge-lok” assembly process is used to secure all of the hooks into the E-glass handles.  Featuring a rich-looking dark brown epoxy finish with hand-wrapped black and metallic gold-and-blue thread trim wraps, each gaff has a handsome and extremely functional black nylon seine cord-wrapped handle with hand-finished Turk’s heads on each end of the wrapped grips.  Seine cord and Turk’s heads are finished with epoxy for durability and extra tackiness when gripped with wet or slimy hands.  A large rubber “mushroom-style” butt cap finishes the butt-end of each handle.  AFTCO Fiberglass Gaffs are available in 4, 6, and 8-foot lengths with 2, 3, or 4-inch hooks.  All of the 2 and 3-inch hooks are 5/16″ diameter 316L stainless steel, and the 4-inch hooks are 3/8″ diameter N50 stainless steel.  The 6 and 8-foot models will float if dropped overboard.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had overcast skies with some rain mixed in. The winds were from the south at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.

    Up on the Avon pier and on the beaches there were sea mullet and pompano reported.  The Buxton beaches had some sea mullet. Out at Cape Point in Buxton a few bluefish and sharks were caught.  Over on the Frisco beach a few sea mullet were reported.

    The inshore boats caught puppy drum, bluefish and some spanish mackerel in the Pamlico Sound today.

    The offshore boats had good dolphin fishing, a few wahoo and black fin tuna reported.

    Today was the first day of the 24th Hatteras Village Offshore Open.  Good blue marlin fishing with 10 blues released and 2 boated. Sea Toy with a 690.4 lb to take the lead.   A white marlin was also released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had sunny skies and warm temperatures.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Avon Pier and beach had reports of sea mullet, spot, bluefish and spanish mackerel.  On the Buxton beach and out at Cape Point a few bluefish, sea mullet and sharks were reported.  The Frisco beach had some nice pompano and sea mullet.  One pompano was 3 lbs caught by Jim Price from Frisco.  Down in the Hatteras beach sea mullet, puppy drum and bluefish were reported.

    The inshore boats caught lots of spanish mackerel and bluefish and several cobia were caught in and around Hatteras Inlet.  Bluefish, puppy drum and a few flounder were caught in the Pamlico sound today.

    The offshore boats had good dolphin catches, a few wahoo and king mackerel and decent black fin tuna fishing.  Some white marlin and a few blue marlin were released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had temperatures in the upper 70’s and winds out of the southwest, blowing hard at times.

    Avon Pier and beach has reports of sea mullet, spot, croaker and sharks.  The southwest winds have brought a good drum bite to Cape Point, especially yesterday.  It is estimated around 150 were caught and released.  There were some caught this morning also.  On the southside of the Point there were some puppy drum and sea mullet.  Frisco and Hatteras are reporting  bluefish and sea mullet.

    The inshore boats had both release and keeper drum.

    The offshore boats had some mahi, blackfin tuna and a scattered wahoo bite.  There was also a couple of blue marlin caught and released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    What a beautiful day on Hatteras Island.  We had temperatures in the upper 70’s and winds in the southwesterly direction between 8-13 mph.

    Avon Pier had some sea mullet, bluefish and spot today.  Out at Cape Point there were some drum and bluefish.  Frisco had some sea mullet.  Hatteras beach had some keeper flounder, nice sea mullet and pompano.

    The inshore boats had good puppy drum fishing today.

    The offshore boats came back to the docks with good catches of mahi, some blackfin tuna and king mackerel.
