• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was partly sunny.  The winds were from the north-east at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 50’s.

    Out at Cape Point in Biuxton a few puppy drum and sharks were reported.  Over on the Frisco and Hatteras beach some goo puppy drum action was reported with a few blow toads mixed in..  Pictured is Craig Allen and Mark Owens with a couple of nice puppy drum caught on the Hatteras beach.

    Inshore boats caught some red drum.  Pictured below is a couple who fished with Bak Bar Sportfishing Charters and got into some “Big” red drum.

    The offshore boats caught a few blackfin and yellowfin tuna and a couple of dolphin were also reported.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today the temperature reached a high of 72. We had strong winds out of the south-west, gusting to the mid 30’s this afternoon. There have also been some scattered showers around the area.

    Fishing has picked up all around with the water temps rising. Reports of puppy drum and blues being caught at the point, as well as sea mullet, blow toads, and croaker on the Frisco beaches.  Check out our Instagram in the right column for some keeper puppies caught on mullet at the point this afternoon.

    There were no inshore boats out today.

    One report from the offshore. The catch was fruitful with yellowfin and blackfin tuna in abundance.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had temperatures right at 70F til the cold front came through, then the temperature dropped to 54F.  The winds were out of the southwest before the winds switched to the north and blowing 10 mph with gusts to 25.

    The water temperature is still cold, so the catching is on the slow side right now.  It is gradually warming up and as it does the fishing will pick up.  There were scattered puppy drum, a few blow toads and a black drum.  Lots of sharks too!

    There were no inshore boats out today.

    There were a few offshore boats out today.  They came back with catches of yellowfin and blackfin tuna.  There was also a blue marlin released.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    HAPPY EASTER!!

    Today was a beautiful day on Hatteras Island.  We finally had some spring like weather.  We reached a temperature of 70F.  The winds were out of the southwest at 5-10 mph.

    The puppy drum bite has been scattered from Avon to Hatteras and sharks are plentiful.

    The boats finally made it offshore today.  They came back with catches of yellowfin and blackfin tuna, good catches of king mackerel, also some triggerfish, wahoo and snapper.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had partly cloudy skies.  The winds were from the north-east at 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph and temperatures were in the mid 50’s.

    The ocean was still rough but some black tip sharks, dog sharks and skates were caught out a Cape Point in Buxton.  On the Frisco beach a black drum was reported.

    There is no inshore or offshore report for today.
