    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had rain off and on most of the day.  The winds were from the north at 10-15 mph and the temperature were in the mid 60’s.

    Up in Avon big red drum were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches bluefish, sea mullet and pompano were caught.

    No offshore or inshore boats fished today due to the rough seas.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was another nice day on Hatteras Island.  The fog moved in and out most of the morning.  We had some south-west winds this morning with winds around 5-10 mph.  The temperature reached 73F today.

    Avon is still reporting puppy drum  Buxton had puppy drum as well.  There were also some sea mullet caught.  In Frisco there were some pompano, sea mullet and blow toads.  Hatteras had some sea mullet and blow toads.  Scattered up and down the beaches you will find small pompano and bluefish also.

    There was a few speckled trout caught on the inshore boats today.

    The offshore is on the slow side a few charters and some commercial fishing, the conditions this morning didn’t help.  There were a few blackfin tuna, some king mackerel, triggerfish, snapper, porgies and a lion fish.

    Boy the Island sure is producing some nice deer this year.  Here is one taken this evening in Buxton by a local young man, John Canning.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a nice day on Hatteras Island.  We had light winds and temperatures in the mid 70’s.

    Looks like most fish are being caught on the northern beaches.  Avon has had some puppy drum.  Avon Pier had some big drum and puppy drum.  There have been sea mullet,bluefish and some pompano, even a few speckled trout up and down the beaches, just got to be in the right spot.

    The inshore boats are having good luck catching speckled trout and puppy drum.

    The offshore boats had fair wahoo catches and scattered dolphin and blackfin tuna, along with some king mackerel and triggerfish and amberjacks.  There was a sailfish released today also.  The boats have also been doing some commercial king mackerel fishing when they don’t have charters.  Pictured below is Tuna Duck Sportfishing with a blackfin tuna that was caught in the mix of all the king mackerel today.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was nice and sunny  most of the day.  The winds were from the north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 70’s.

    From the beaches up in Avon today catches of puppy drum, sea mullet were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches puppy drum, sea mullet, bluefish and blow toads were caught.  Over on the Frisco beach a few sea mullet were reported.

    The inshore boats reported good speckled trout and puppy drum fishing today in the Pamlico Sound.

    Offshore boats caught limits of king mackerel live baiting, limits of dolphin, some wahoo, black fin tuna and 2 sailfish were released.  .

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Another beautiful day on the island. The temperatures were in the mid 70’s throughout the day. The winds were calm.

    Great fishing off the beach today for the angler club fishing tournament. All over the beach today there was puppy drum, black drum, sea mullet, pompano, blues, and spanish mackerel.

    Here is our very own Susie Perry with a 19.5 inch speckled trout that won her the largest fish for the ladies category.

    Below is the final leader board for the Cape Hatteras Anglers Club tournament. Congrats to all the teams!

    The inshore boats are catching limits of speckled trout and citation sized drum.

    Offshore today the fishing was fair. There was a scattered wahoo bite. Black fin tuna were biting as well today. The live bait king mackerel bite was great today.
