• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was overcast with light winds.  We had south-east winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.

    Up on the Avon beach puppy drum, croaker and a few sea mullet were reported.  Around the Buxton beach bluefish, croaker, sea mullet and pompano were reported.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton puppy drum, bluefish and some spanish mackerel were caught.  A few bluefish and puppy drum were caught on the Frisco beach today.

    The inshore boats had good catches of speckled trout and a few puppy drum.

    The offshore boats had excellent catchers of black fin tuna,  a few dolphin and yellow fin tuna. The wahoo fishing was scattered.  Two sailfish were released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was a beautiful day on Hatteras Island.  Today was warmer than yesterday.  We reached a high of 82F today.  We had light north-north-east winds this morning and light south-east winds this evening blowing around 8 mph.

    The fishing has picked up today.  Avon is reporting sea mullet, pompano, spots,a few puppy drum and a few bluefish and croaker.  Buxton had some small bluefish, small puppy drum and a few sea mullet.  Frisco had some nice pompano, a few blow toads and a few bluefish.  Hatteras had sea mullet, small bluefish and croaker.

    The inshore boats had great catches of speckled trout and puppy drum.

    The offshore boats had great catches of wahoo and blackfin tuna and good catches of dolphin.  There were a couple of sailfish released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a nice change, finally starting to feel like fall.  We had a high of 76F and northeast winds blowing 12-8 mph.

    There’s a few bluefish and sea mullet in Avon today.  The Avon Pier had some sea mullet, croaker and a few flounder.  Buxton had some puppy drum and sea mullet.  Frisco had a few sea mullet,few  puppy drum and few puppy drum.

    The inshore boats had a good day catching puppy drum.

    Those that ventured into the deep today had catches of dolphin, wahoo, blackfin and yellowfin tuna.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Great fishing weather today. The temperatures were in the lower 80’s. Winds were from the North at 5-10 mph.

    Off the beach today the fishing was fair. In Avon there was sea-mullet and croaker biting. Off the pier there was sea-mullet, pompano, croaker, and small puppy drum caught. In Buxton there was small pompano, sea-mullet, small bluefish, and spanish mackerel caught. Here in Frisco we had sea-mullet biting. Hatteras beach had small bluefish biting.

    Inshore fishing the red drum fishing is still spot on. There was speckled trout biting as well. Near shore wreck fishing there was amberjack caught.

    More than a dozen sailfish were released today. The dolphin bite slowed down but the wahoo, black-fin tuna, and yellow-fin tuna were biting great.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Beautiful weather again today. The winds were from the North at 5-10 mph. The temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    The fishing off the beach picked up today. From the beach in Avon there was a few sea-mullet and croaker caught. Off the pier there was sea-mullet, pompano, croaker and some puppy drum caught.  In Buxton there was pompano, sea-mullet, bluefish and some puppy drum biting. Here in Frisco we had sea-mullet, and small bluefish caught. Hatteras beach had a few puppy drum and bluefish biting.

    Inshore today the fishing was great with a variety of fish. IN the sound there was speckled trout, keeper and citation sized drum, and bluefish. Just outside the inlet there was spanish mackerel, and king mackerel caught.

    Billfish were again snapping today. There was over 25 sailfish released today and few blue marlin released. Limits of dolphin a wahoo today with a few yellow-fin and black-fin tuna mixed in. Off the bottom there was triggerfish and vermillion snapper caught.
