    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Great weather today. Temperatures were in the mid 70’s for most of the morning and warmed up to upper 80’s late in the afternoon. Winds were from the North-West most of the day turning South-West late in the afternoon also.

    From the beach today the fishing was slower again. In Avon off the beach and pier there was sea-mullet, spot, and croaker caught. In Buxton there was Flounder biting. In Frisco and Hatteras there was sea-mullet caught.

    Inshore today there was A great puppy drum and red drum bite. There was also a few speckled trout caught.

    Near shore today the spanish mackerel and bluefish were biting great.

    Offshore today there was rough conditions but fair fishing.Black-fin tuna, and dolphin were biting good today. There was a scattere wahoo caught as well.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Windy and warm weather with blue skies today. The winds were 10-15 gusting to 20 mph from the South-West. Temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    Better fishing from the beach today. Off the beach in Avon there was croaker, and puppy drum caught. From the Avon Pier there was spot, croaker, sea-mullet, bluefish, and flounder. In Buxton and here in Frisco there was sea-mullet biting. In Hatteras there was flounder and puppy drum caught.

    Inshore today there was a fair red drum bite and a few speckled trout were caught in the morning. In The afternoon there was speckled trout, gray trout, sea mullet, and spot biting. A nice cobia was caught this afternoon as well.

    Offshore was rough but fish were biting. There was a great sailfish bite today. The gaffer and bailer dolphin were biting good. A few black-fin tuna and wahoo made it into the boxes today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today had a little less humidity but still hot.  The winds were from the south-west at 10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach bluefish and sea mullet were reported.  The Buxton beaches had puppy drum, sea mullet and a few flounder caught.  Not much to report on the Frisco and Hatteras beaches.

    The inshore boats had plenty of Big red drum releases as well many puppy drum.  The speckled trout and bluefish bite was good too in the Pamlico Sound.  Spanish mackerel and bluefish were caught on the troll just outside Hatteras Inlet.

    The offshore boats released several sailfish and had scattered catches of blackfin tuna and dolphin.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was just as hot as yesterday with a heat index of 95 degrees.  The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach bluefish, sea mullet, a few pompano and croaker were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches sea mullet and bluefish were reported.  Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach sea mullet and croakers were reported.

    The inshore boats had some catches of Big red drum.  Pictured below is Stephanie Tucker of Urbanna, VA with a huge 58 in citation red drum caught aboard “Tightline” charters out of Hatteras NC today.

    No boats fished offshore today due to the windy weather and rough seas.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was another hot and humid day for the books, we hit a high of 87F.  Light south-east breezes this morning, switching to the south-south-west this evening and kicking the winds up a bit, around 10-15 with higher gusts.

    The beaches were packed today.  Along with the sun tanners and swimmers, there were some surf fishing and some fish caught.  Avon beach reports spot, croaker, sea mullet and small bluefish.  Buxton is reporting some sea mullet.  Frisco had some croaker and spot.  Hatteras had some spot, croaker and sea mullet.

    The inshore boats had good catches of bid drum and spanish mackerel.

    The offshore boats had catches of dolphin, scattered blackfin and some bottomfish.  There was one sailfish and one blue marlin.
