• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Another hot sunny day with temperatures in the upper 80’s. Winds were from the South-West at 10-15 mph.

    From the beach today the fishing was fair. In Avon there was small bluefish, spanish mackerel, sea-mullet, and croaker. From the beach there was sea-mullet and croaker biting. In Buxton there was sea-mullet and small bluefish. Here in Frisco we had croaker and spot caught. In Hatteras there was sea-mullet, pompano and small bluefish biting.

    Great inshore and near shore fishing today. The red drum are still here and biting great. Many fish over slot and being released. Also the grey trout and spot were biting in the sound.  Spanish mackerel and bluefish were biting just outside the inlet.

    Offshore today the fishing was scattered. Dolphin, wahoo, and blackfin tuna were spead thin today. There was a few sailfish released today also. From the bottom there was tripletail, triggerfish, and grouper caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was hot with a lower heat index of 98 degrees.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach and Avon Pier there were sea mullet, croaker, spanish mackerel, ribbonfsh and bluefish reported.  The Buxton beaches had sea mullet,croaker and bluefish.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton spanish mackerel, bluefish, ribbonfish and sharks reported.  Over on the Frisco beaches some croaker, sea mullet and small pompano were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach croaker, flounder and bluefish were caught.

    The inshore boats had good catches of red drum and puppy drum, bluefish, speckled and gray trout in the Pamlico sound today.  There were a few cobias caught and other spotted.  The trolling bite for spanish mackerel and bluefish was good outside Hatteras Inlet.

    The offshore boats had good catches of dolphin with some limits, blackfin tuna and wahoo fishing was scattered.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was hot and humid with a heat index of 104 degrees.  The winds were from the south-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 90’s.

    Up on the Avon beach sea mullet, croaker and bluefish were reported.  The Buxton beaches had sea mullet and bluefish.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton good spanish mackerel and bluefish reported with sharks caught on cut bait.  Over on the Frisco beaches some croaker and pin fish were caught around the Frisco Pier.  Down on the Hatteras beach croaker and bluefish were caught.

    The inshore boats had catches of red drum, bluefish, speckled trout and a 70 lb cobia caught off the charter boat “Adventure” with a trout rod today.  Just outside Hatteras Inlet bluefish, spanish mackerel and further off the beach some king mackerel were caught.

    The offshore boats had good catches of wahoo, a few dolphin and blackfin tuna.  A white marlin was released and the tilefish were caught off the bottom.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Another hot day for the books.  The high today was 90F.  We had westerly winds this morning, switched to the southwest this afternoon, blowing around 6 mph.

    Seems like fishing was a little better today.  Avon had reports of sea mullet, bluefish, spanish mackerel, croaker and spot.  Buxton had a few spanish mackerel, small bluefish and sea mullet.  Frisco had sea mullet, bluefish and croaker.  Hatteras had bluefish, pompano, croaker and sea mullet.

    The inshore boats had catches of red drum and trout today.  Some ventured nearshore and had catches of spanish mackerel and bluefish.

    The offshore boats had good catches of wahoo, some dolphin and the blackfin bite was scattered today.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was another hot one today.  The temperature was 89F, but the heat index was near 100F.  We had light southwest winds this morning, that increased throughout the day.

    The fishing is about the same as yesterday.  In Avon there were small bluefish, spanish mackerel, croaker, spot and small flounder.  Buxton had reports of small bluefish.  Frisco had reports of pompano and sea mullet.  Hatteras had reports of small bluefish, pompano and sea mullet.

    The inshore boats had a slow day today.  There were some red drum releases.

    The offshore boats had catches of dolphin and wahoo.
