• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was hot and windy.  We had south-west winds 15-20 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

     

    Up on the Avon beach there were croakers caught.  Around the Buxton beaches gray trout and croaker were reported.  The Frisco beach had croaker and small pompano caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach bluefish, sea mullet and bluefish were caught.

    The Inshore boats caught bluefish, puppy drum and speckled trout in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats had good blackfin tuna fishing, scattered dolphin and a blue marlin released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Clear skies and hot again today.  We had a high of 87F and southwest winds blowing 8-12 mph.

    There’s a few fish around.  Avon had a few small bluefish, croaker and sea mullet.  The Pier had sea mullet, spanish mackerel and bluefish.  Buxton and Frisco had croaker and sea mullet.  Hatteras had reports of sea mullet, pompano and croaker.

    The inshore boats are catching red drum, trout and flounder.  The offshore boats had good catches of dolphin, excellent catches of blackfin tuna and a few wahoo and bottom fish as well.  There were a couple of sailfish releases too.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was a beautiful, hot day today.  We reached 90F and the winds were a steady 8 mph out of the southwest.

    There’s a few fish around.  Avon is reporting sea mullet, spot, croaker and flounder.  The Pier had sea mullet, bluefish and croaker.  Buxton had sea mullet, spot, pompano and croaker.  Frisco had sea mullet and pompano.  Hatteras had sea mullet and spot.

    The inshore boats had catches of red drum, keepers and releases.  The offshore boats had good catches of blackfin tuna, some dolphin and wahoo.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Another warm sunny day. Temperatures were in the upper 80’s again today. Winds were from the South-West at 10-15 mph.

    Slower fishing from the beach today but a few fish were biting. In Avon there was sea-muller from the beach, From the pier there was spanish mackerel, sea-mullet, and flounder caught. In Buxton there was croaker, spot, ans sea-mullet biting. Here in Frisco the bluefish and sea-mullet were biting good. In Hatteras there was sea-mullet caught.

    Inshore today there was a fair spanish mackerel and bluefish bite. Later in the afternoon the red drum bite picked up.

    Brandon, who works here at the store with us, got to go out tonight drum fishing with some family. Here he is with a nice yearling drum he caught and released while Hannah is in the background hooked up to another.

    Great offshore fishing today. Most boats returned with near limits of bailer and gaffer dolphin. A few sailfish were spotted. There was a scattered wahoo bite today as well. From the bottom there was gray tulefish, golden tilefish, and grouper caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Temperatures were up a little more today to the upper 80’s. There was still a few scattered clouds but mostly blue skies. The winds were calm from the North this morning turning to the South at 5-10 mph around noon.

    Another good day fishing off the beach. There was sea-mullet, bluefish, and croaker caught in Avon off the beach and pier with some flounder caught off the pier as well. In Buxton and here in Frisco there was a good sea-mullet bite with citation sized fish being caught. In Hatteras there was spanish mackerel, bluefish, and sea-mullet biting.

    Good fishing inshore again today. The spanish mackerel and bluefish were biting great just outside the inlet. The drum are biting good with a mix of keeper and yearling fish being caught. Some grey trout were caught as well.

    Sailfish are still biting and there are plenty around with a handful being released and more seen. Great dolphin bite with fair wahoo and black-fin tuna fishing. Tilefish were biting great off the bottom.
