• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was another sunny day here in the island. The temperature was around 70 today with winds from the north-east 5-10 mph.

    From the beach today the fishing was great. In Avon there was a great bite of sea-mullet, and bluefish from the beach. From the pier there was croaker, spot, and greay trout caught. In buxton there was spanish mackerel, bluefish, puppy drum, and sea-mullet. There was also some cobia caught. In Frisco there was pompano, sea-mullet, and bluefish biting. From the beach in Hatteras there was spanish mackerel, and bluefish along with sea-mullet and pompano.

     

    Inshore today the fishing was pretty good. The cobia are back around in full swing. There was bluefish and spanish mackerel caught as well.

    From the Offshore fleet there was great gaffer sized dolphin caught. The wahoo bite was scattered and a few blackfin tuna were caught. From the deep there was amberjack, triggerfish, and grouper caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny with a few clouds around. The temperature was in the mid 60’s cooling off later in the day. The winds were 5-10 mph from the north in the mooring turning east in the afternoon.

    In Avon today there were reports of sea mullet, bluefish, spot, and croaker caught. People fishing the Buxton beaches caught some cobia, spanish mackerel, bluefish, pompano, sea mullet, and puppy drum.  In both Frisco and Hatteras there were catches of pompano, sea mullet, and blues.

    Today we weighed in 3 citation pompano from from the beach here in Frisco just over ramp49. Heres Jane Sitko from Raleigh, NC with the biggest from today at 4lb. 5oz.

    The inshore boats had some awesome catches of spanish mackerel. Gray trout fishing was also great today, and there were some reports of a few bluefish as well.

    The offshore boats had great luck with dolphin fishing, and there were some reports of wahoo bites too.  The blue marlin bite was scattered.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was partly sunny turning stormy late in the day with rain showers. We had south-east winds 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches sea mullet and a few yearling red drum were caught.  The Buxton beaches had bluefish, spanish mackerel and pompano.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton good catches of bluefish, spanish mackerel and sharks.  Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet , bluefish and pompano were reported.  On the beaches in Hatteras and near Hatteras Inlet  nice pompano and bluefish were caught.

    The inshore boats had good catches of bluefish and sea mullet in the Pamlico Sound and good cobia fishing just off the beaches.

    The offshore boats had good gaffer dolphin and a few wahoo catches  The blue marlin bite is still going on with at least 4 released today.  There were a couple of white marlin and a hatchet marlin released as well.   The picture below is “Chaser” Sport Fishing with one of the 2 blue marlin they released today.  Pretty work guys!!

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was mostly sunny. We had north-east winds 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 70’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches bluefish, sea mullet and a 43 in cobia were caught.  The Buxton beaches had bluefish, spanish mackerel and pompano.  Over on the Frisco beach bluefish, pompano, sheeps head, a few flounder and sea mullet were reported.  On the beaches in Hatteras and near Hatteras Inlet  nice pompano, bluefish, sea mullet, flounder and a 47 in cobia were caught.

    The inshore boats had a decent day catching puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound and good cobia fishing just off the beaches.

    The offshore boats had good gaffer dolphin and wahoo fishing.  The blue marlin bite is still pretty good with multiples released today.  A few nice grouperare being caught too.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny and warm early with steady rain late in the day.  We had south-west winds 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 70’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches bluefish, sea mullet, croakers and some puppy drum were caught.  The Buxton beaches had bluefish, sea mullet, black drum and puppy drum.  Out at Cape Point some big red drum were caught along with spanish mackerel and bluefish and big sharks too.  Over on the Frisco beach bluefish and sea mullet were reported.  On the beaches in Hatteras and near Hatteras Inlet  nice pompano, bluefish, sea mullet and black drum were caught.

    The inshore boats had a decent day catching gray trout and bluefish.  Some spanish mackerel were caught just outside Hatteras Inlet.

    The offshore boats had good gaffer dolphin fishing and some white and blue marlin released.
