• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we reached a high of 78F.  The winds were out of the west all morning, 5-10 mph till noon time.  Winds switched to the south-west at noon and stayed a steady 10 mph the rest of the day.

    Avon had croakers, sea mullet and bluefish today.  Buxton reports bluefish, sea mullet and pompano.  Frisco reports sea mullet and bluefish.  Hatteras reports pompano, sea mullet and bluefish.

    The inshore boats had good red drum keepers and releases, along with some cobia today.  The offshore boats had good dolphin, a few wahoo and a few blackfin tuna.  A nice 45lb grouper was caught also.

    HICF Raffling Custom Fishing Rod

    May 10, 2015 – The Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation is raffling off a custom Seeker 30 Class Stand Up White Marlin/Sailfish Rod!  The custom built rod was donated by The Roost Bait and Tackle at Teach’s Lair Marina in Hatteras.  The rod has a custom diamond wrap accented in pink with Fuji guides and a Fuji reel seat and retails for $350.00.

    Raffle tickets are $5. The winning ticket will be drawn on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Day at the Docks HICF Chowder Cook-off. You do not need to be present to win.

    Proceeds from this raffle will help Hatteras Island cancer patients pay for medical bills and prescriptions that are not covered by insurance and for travel expenses to and from treatment.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was another nice day on Hatteras Island.  We had a temperature of 75F, with warm south-west winds from 5-14 mph today.

    Avon beaches had reports of spot, sea mullet, croaker, blow toads and bluefish.  Buxton reports bluefish, pompano, sea mullet and puppy drum.  Frisco beach reports sea mullet, pompano and blow toads.  One pompano weighed in at  2lb 2oz and a sea mullet was 1 lb 10oz.  Hatteras reports pompano, bluefish and small flounder.

    The inshore boats had nice catches of spanish mackerel and bluefish and some cobia.  The offshore boats had good catches of blackfin tuna, excellent catches of dolphin and some yellowfin tuna.  The boats that bottomfished caught some grouper, amberjack and false albacore.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had sunny skies and calm winds. The temperature was in the low 70’s and winds were South-West 5-10 mph.

    Beach fishing today was pretty good. In Avon there was sea-mullet, bluefish, trout, croaker, and spot. From The Buxton beach bluefish, pompano, sea-mullet, and some sharks. Here in Frisco there was flounder, pompano, bluefish, and sea-mullet. In Hatteras there was bluefish, sea-mullet,and drum caught.

    Inshore fishing today was great! There was a lot of cobia and big drum caught today. the bluefish and spanish were biting today also.

    Lewis Boyd from Kitty Hawk brought us this huge 78 pound cobia he caught today.

    Offshore today the dolphin fishing was excellent and a few blackfin Tuna were caught.

    Dana Waterfield fished offshore today and caught this nice 22 pound dolphin today.

    It was an eventful  last day of the 21 st Hatteras Village Offshore Open. All 28 boats fished today.  There was 5 Blue Marlin boated, 6 Blue Marlin released, and 4 White Marlin.   Fishing days are May 13-16th.

    Hammer Time took the 1st place prize with a 645 pound blue marlin.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    This morning the skies were clear and winds were calm. The temperature was around 70 today the winds were 5-10 from the North.

    From the beach today there was some pretty good fishing. In Avon there was sea-mulllet, bluefish, croaker, and blowtoads. In Buxton there was puppy drum and sea-mullet caught. Here in Frisco the fishing was slow with just a few flounder caught around the pier. In Hatteras the puppy drum, bluefish, sea-mullet, and croaker.

     

    For the inshore boats there was some good drum fishing and the cobia were biting.

    Offshore today there was a good bite off dolphin, yellowfin tuna, and wahoo. The blackfin fishing was scattered. The billfish bite was great.

    Today was the third day of the 21 st Hatteras Village Offshore Open. All 28 boats fished today. There was 11 Blue, 3 White, & 3 Sails released today.  Fishing days are May 13-16th.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny with cooler temperatures.  The winds were blowing 5-10 mph out of the north and the temperatures were in the low 60’s.

    Up and down the Avon and Frisco beaches sea mullet and bluefish were caught.  The Buxton beaches had puppy drum. sea mullet and bluefish.  Down on the Hatteras beach sea mullet, bluefish, black drum and croakers  were reported.  Pictured is a citation sea mullet caught on the Frisco Beach today.

    The inshore boats found the cobias today way south of Hatteras Inlet.  Looking forward to a great Cobia bite over the next few weeks.  The spanish mackerel and bluefish bite was good too,

    The offshore boats had another good day of dolphin and yellowfin tuna.  A few wahoo and blackfin tuna were reported too.

    Today was the second day of the 21 st Hatteras Village Offshore Open.  21 boats out of 28 fished today.   Their were 2 white marlin and a blue marlin released today.  Fishing days are May 13-16th.  .
