• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    We had partly cloudy skies today, it was a warm one, with a temperature of 85F.  We had winds out of the west this morning for a short period, then it switched to the south-south-west, then the south.

    Avon beach had sea mullet and croaker today.  Buxton beach had puppy drum and sheepshead.  Frisco beach had big bluefish.  We weighed a 10lb 1oz in for a member of the Angler’s Club, but no picture.  Hatteras reports sheepshead, pompano and sea mullet.

    The inshore boats caught red drum, keepers and oversized.  They also caught gray trout, big bluefish and a few flounder.  The offshore boats had good catches of gaffer and bailer dolphin, along with a few wahoo and blackfin tuna.  There were also some grouper and triggerfish caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was beautiful.  We had a high of 84F, clear skies and south-south-east winds at 5-10 mph.

    Avon beach had some sea mullet and bluefish.  Buxton had some spanish mackerel and bluefish.  Frisco had some bluefish and sea mullet.  Hatteras had a nice 4lb 11oz pompano.

    The inshore boats continue to catch cobia.  They are getting a little tougher to get on the hook now though.  Red drum are also being caught.  There is also lots of clams around.  The offshore boats are having real good catches of dolphin, some gaffers mixed in.  The boats that bottomfished had triggerfish, b-liners, amberjack and grouper.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had clear skies again. The temperature was in the low 80’s the winds were 5-10 mph from the south-east.

    From the beach today the fishing was great. In Avon there was sea-mullet, bluefish, spanish mackerel. From the Pier there was a nice 59 pound cobia a good drum bite. In Buxton there was bluefish and spanish. Here in Frisco we had some sea-mullet, and bluefish. In Hatteras there was small bluefish, pompano, and some sea-mullet. Today we weighed in this nice 10 pound sheeps head the was caught near the Hatteras inlet by Jefferey Madre from Elizabeth City.

    Inshore today the fishing was good again. In the sound the puppy drum bite was great. The cobia are still here and biting fairly good. There was spanish mackerel and bluefish caught today also.

    Offshore the dolphin bite picked up and there was good numbers to the gaffers and bailers. The wahoo was scattered and a few yellowfin tuna were caught. From the bottom there was vermilion snapper, silver snapper, amberjack, triggerfish, and some grouper caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was a great day to be out fishing. The temperature was around 80 and the winds were east-south-east 5-10 mph. The skies were clear for the fist half of the day and clouds with scattered showers came in the afternoon.

    From the beach today there was some pretty good fishing. In Avon there was sea-mullet, bluefish, spanish mackerel, and some grey trout from the pier. In Buxton the spanish, bluefish, sea-mullet, and pompano were biting. Here in Frisco the fishing was slower with just some sea-mullet and bluefish caught. Hatteras beach had flounder show up with bluefish, sea-mullet, and pompano.

    Inshore today the drum fishing was good and the cobia slowed down. the spanish mackerel bite was pretty good. In the sound there was some grey trout caught.

    Josh Brown from Frisco got to fish the inlet today and caught this nice cobia.

    Offshore today the fishing was scattered. There was gaffer sized dolphin caught and a scattered wahoo bite today. From the bottom there was vermilion snapper, silver snapper, and trigger fish caught.

    Angie Ballance went offshore today and caught a nice gaffer dolphin today.

  • Hatteras Island Fislhing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had a beautiful day with sunny skies. The winds were from the south at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches there were scattered catches of sea mullet, bluefish, croaker and spanish mackerel..  Out at Cape Point in Buxton bluefish and spanish mackerel were caught.  Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet and pompano were reported.

    The inshore boats caught spanish mackerel, bluefish and some nice cobia catches were reported.  The puppy drum bite was good in the Pamlico sound.  Pictured bellow are Gary Bunting of Frisco with a nice 72 lb Cobia and Steve Pinner of Buxton with a 41 lb Cobia.  Pretty Work guys!!!

    The offshore fleet had good catches of yellowfin tuna and a big eye tuna for those who fished way up to the east.  Good gaffer dolphin and scattered wahoo and blackfin tuna. were also reported.
