• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was another beautiful and sunny day with a little more wind.  We had south-west winds 10-20 mph and the temperatures reached 70 degrees.

    Up on the Avon and Buxton beaches sea mullet, blow toads and bluefish were reported.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton  lots of sharks and some yearling red drum.  Chances are the Bid red drum are being caught tonight for those who made the trek.   The Frisco beaches had black and red drum caught  Down on the Hatteras beaches some bluefish, sea mullet and blow toads and a few puppy drum were caught.  The picture below is Joe Simons with a nice puppy drum and black drum caught off the Frisco Beach over Ramp 49.  Pretty work Joe.  joe simons drums

    The inshore boats had good catches of puppy drum and bluefish.

    The offshore fleet caught a mess of black fin tuna, a few wahoo, dolphin and yellowfin tuna.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was beautiful and sunny.  We had light west winds 5-8 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 60’s.

    Around the Buxton beaches there were some puppy drum and bluefish caught .  Out at Cape Point in Buxton several big red drum were caught so far tonight.  The Frisco beaches had a few sea mullet and blow toads.  Down on the Hatteras beaches some bluefish, sea mullet and blow toads were caught.

    No boats fished inshore or offshore today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had beautiful clear skies.  We reached a high of 71F, with southwesterly winds all day.  They blew anywhere from 9 mph to 18 mph.  The winds switched slightly to the south-south-west this evening.

    Avon reports some sea mullet and blow toads.  Buxton reports sea mullet and blow toads.  Cape Point had a few big drum this morning along with some bluefish.  There were also a few big drum caught this evening too.  Frisco had sharks and skates.  Hatteras reports bluefish.

    The inshore boats had catches of red drum.  There is no offshore report for today, due to the winds.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a cloudy, but overall nice day here on Hatteras Island.  We reached a high of 73F today.  The winds were light this morning, but increased in the afternoon, blew out of the southeast 10-15 mph, even some gusts up to 20.

    Sea mullet and blow toads are being caught from Avon to Buxton today.  There was a nice puppy drum caught off Ramp 44 today.  Cape Point had dogsharks and skates.  Frisco started out with dogsharks this morning.  By the afternoon, flounder were being caught.  No keepers that I heard of though.  No report from Hatteras today.  Pam Smith, secretary of the NCBBA, caught this nice puppy drum.  Thank you NCBBA Facebook page for the picture

    The offshore boats had a pretty good day.  They had good catches of dolphin and blackfin tuna.  A few nice size wahoo and scattered yellowfin tuna.  Pictured below is “Marlin Mania” with a nice Wahoo they caught today!

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The day started out cloudy but turned out to be a beautiful day.The temperature was hovering around 70 today with the morning starting off cooler. South East winds again today lioght

    From the beach today the fish were all over. The black drum and puppy drum where just about anywhere you were fishing from Avon to Frisco. The sea-mullet and blow toads are here in full force also. From the pier in Avon there was some croaker and spot caught.

    Francis Kennedy is back in town and he’s catching the fish. He brought us this 9.5 pound black drum he caught this afternoon at Ramp 49.

    For the inshore boats today there was a good bluefish bite along with some citation sized red drum caught.

    Offshore today the fishing was great.There was multiple blue marlin seen today along with a couple wahoo being caught. The gaffer dolphin, blackfin tuna, and yellowfin tuna were biting steady today also. From the bottom there was black sea bass, amber jack, and some nice sized grouper.
