• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was mostly cloudy skies with a high of 77F.  We had light north winds this morning, switching to the south-east this afternoon, then to the east tonight.

    Avon beach had spot, sea mullet and croaker.  Buxton beaches had sea mullet and pompano.  Frisco beach had sea mullet, pompano and black drum.  Hatteras beach had reports of bluefish, sea mullet and a 53inch cobia.

    The inshore boats caught puppy drum today.

    It was a good day to go offshore.  The boats came back to the dock with good catches of gaffer dolphin and blackfin tuna, gray tilefish and grouper.  Flags were flying high, lots of billfish releases.  There were quite a few white marlins and a sailfish released.  Pictured below is the Bite Me with one of their white marlin releases.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had some sort of north-east winds all day, ranging anywhere from 8 to 15 mph.  The skies were overcast for most of the day with a high of 70F.

    Avon Beach had reports of sea mullet and bluefish.  Ramp49 had sea mullet, spot and pompano.  Pictured below is Sandy Madre with her 2lb 8 1/2oz pompano.  She caught it here on Ramp 49.

    This Picture below is Sally Emerson from Liberty KY with her first salt water fish on her first cast.  A nice 1 lb 11 oz pompano caught on the Frisco Beach on Ramp 49 by the Airport.  Pretty Work Sally!!!

    The inshore boats had catches of red drum and flounder.  The offshore boats had good catches of dolphin and a few blackfin tuna.  Those that bottom fished caught grouper, one monster weighing 60lbs.  There was also a white marlin released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was another sunny day on the island. The wind was calm in the morning then changing to North-North-East 10-15 mph in the afternoon. The temperature was in the lower 70’s throughout the day.

    The Gray Trout stayed at the Avon pier again today, from the beach there were Sea-Mullet and Spot Caught. Pompano, Sea-Mullet, a few Sheepshead ,and a small Cobia were caught in Buxton today. Fishing was slow in Frisco today with only a few Puppy Drum and Sea-Mullet caught. In Hatteras the small Bluefish and small Flounder made an appearance.

    Inshore today there were Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel. In the Pamlico Sound there were some nice Puppy Drum caught.  The picture below is Mr Phillips from Chesterfield Va with his puppy drum that he caught while fishing with Mike Pittman and friends in the Pamlico Sound.  Pretty Work!!

    Today was the day to be off shore. The Billfish bite was great today with a total of 15 released from the Hatteras fleet. The Gaffer Dolphin are still here along with thew Blackfin Tuna. The King Mackerel bite was pretty good but the Wahoo bite was scattered. There were some Grouper brought up today also.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was partly sunny again today.  North-East winds around 5-10 mph with temperatures around 70.

    In Avon today there were some Sea-Mullet and a Grey Trout caught from the pier. Also a Trigger fish was caught from the pier. In Buxton today there were some Sea-Mullet and Pompano caught. In Frisco today there was a nice sized Black Drum caught along with Sea-Mullet and Pompano. The Puppy Drum were in Hatteras today with a few scattered flounder.

    Inshore fishing today was good today with Grey Trout, Puppy Drum, And Bluefish in the sound.

    Offshore today the gaffer dolphin were plentiful. The King Mackerel bite was scattered today. Also some Blackfin Tuna were caught and several Blue and White Marlin were released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was partly sunny.  The winds were from the north-east at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 70’s.

    The Avon beach had some sea mullet.  The Buxton beaches reported sea mullet and bluefish.  Over on the Frisco Beach a nice pompano and some sea mullet were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach a few sea mullet, flounder and bluefish were caught.

    The inshore boats caught a variety of fish today while fishing the Pamlico Sound.  Bluefish, sea mullet, flounder, puppy drum and spanish mackerel were reported.

    The offshore fleet caught gaffer dolphin, some black fin tuna, a  few  wahoo and king mackerel.  A blue marlin was released.
