Today we had a high around 73F.  We had light north winds this morning, switching to the south-south-east and increasing just a little tonight.

Ramp 38 had a cobia this morning.  Ramp 44 had reports of sea mullet and pompano with several citations.  Bluefish were reported at Cape Point this evening.  Ramp 49 had reports of bluefish and sea mullet.

The inshore boats caught cobia all day!  The offshore boats had good catches of gaffer dolphin, a few yellowfin and few blackfin tuna.  The boats that bottom fished caught tile and grouper.  There was one sailfish released today too.  The first picture is the Tuna Duck with golden tile, snowy grouper and a rose fish.  They also caught dolphin.  The next picture is Bite Me Sportfishing Charters with a 44lb citation bull dolphin.  The last picture is the Godspeed Charter with their sailfish release.

Today started as a cool sunny day, but warmer weather set in around noon. The temperature was in the lower 70’s. The wind was 5-10mph from the North-West. The rain was also gone this morning.

The fishing picked up with the beautiful weather. The Puppy Drum, Bluefish, and a few scattered Trout were found in Rodanthe. In Buxton today the Sea-Mullet, Drum, and Bluefish were caught. Also a few Cobia were spotted from the shore. For Frisco today there were only a few scattered Sea-Mullet caught.

Today the inshore guys caught limits on Red Drum.

Offshore today was busy. Large schools of Dolphin were spotted and a good amount of gaffers were caught. The Yellowfin and Blackfin Tuna were scattered. There were also few Sailfish released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was rainy throughout the morning and early afternoon. Temperatures were in the mid 70’s. The wind was 15-20mph from the South turning to light and variable from the North late in the afternoon.

The wind and rain kept the fishermen in today. After the skies cleared the only fish that were caught were a few Sea-Mullet in Avon. Other than that today was a very slow one.

There is no inshore or offshore report today.

For the third day of the 20 th Annual Hatteras Village Offshore Open almost all of the boats took a lay day.
