We hope everyone had wonderful and safe New Years Eve and 2015 brings lots of happiness and fun for everyone.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

This New Years Day was a beautiful day with sunny skies. We had calm and cool winds from the north-west at 5 mph with the temperatures in the mid 40’s.

The Buxton beaches and out at Cape Point had dog sharks and skates reported. Over on the Frisco beach some scattered puppy drum were caught. Down around Hatteras Inlet there a few more puppy drum reported. .

No boats fished inshore or offshore today.

Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

For the last day of the year the weather couldn’t have been better. The sun was shining and the wind laid out some to 5-10 mph from the north. The temperature was in the mid 40’s. The sunset couldn’t have been better for a great end of the year.

The speckled trout were caught everywhere today. From the beach in Frisco and Avon there was a scattered puppy drum bite. In Buxton the sharks and skates were biting.

No boats fished inshore or offshore today.

Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had overcast skies and gusty winds. The winds were from the north north-east at 10-20 mph with higher gust to 30 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 40’s

The Avon and Buxton beaches were too rough to fish and the Frisco and Hatteras beaches had a scattered puppy drum and speckled trout reported.

No boats fished inshore or offshore today.

Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had overcast skies, with rain on and off. We had winds out of the north and the northeast around 4-13 mph, with a temperature high of 54F.

There were a few speckled trout and puppy drum caught today. There have also been more dog sharks today, along with big sharks at Cape Point.

There is no inshore or offshore report for today.

Hatteras Island Fishing Report

December 28, 2014

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was overcast, with a high around 64F. We had WSW winds around 5-10 mph. Tomorrow will be cooler with a chance of rain.

The fishing is on the slow side. There is dog sharks, of course. Also an occasional sea mullet, puppy drum and speckled trout. Pink seems to be one of the hot colors for the speckled trout.

The offshore boats are having nice catches of blackfin tunas. They are catching the blackfins by vertical jigging. Pictured below is the Tuna Duck and their catch of blackfin tunas caught today.
