• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had a high around 49F.  Winds were out of the north this morning blowing a good 15-20 mph.  The winds switched a little to the north-north-east this evening and the winds are increasing as it gets later.  There is some ocean overwash right as you come into Buxton, so if you are traveling, be safe.

We do not have much catching to report.  There were a few folks that tried their luck.  There was a puppy drum caught at Frisco Pier.  At the end of the island, Hatteras, a dog shark was caught.  Looks like we have another day of these winds, then it will start to lay down.

The winds kept the inshore and offshore boats at the docks today.

The rain and fog made for a less than perfect day of fishing. The winds started east in the morning and turned west around noon. The temperature was in the lower 60’s.

From the beach in Frisco there was black drum, speckled trout, small blues, and a few flounder. Around the pier there was some puppy drum caught also.

    No boats fished inshore today.
