    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was partly cloudy with warm temperatures in the morning and cooling off with the wind switch.  The winds were from the south-west switching to the north-west at 10-20 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s dropping to the mid 40’s in the afternoon.

    Up on the Avon beaches it was rough today with no report.  Around the Buxton beaches it was rough but a few bluefish and puppy drum were caught.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton a few puppy drum and some big red drum were caught along with some bluefish and speckled trout.. On the Frisco beaches today a few bluefish were reported.  Down on the Hatteras beach some bluefish and flounder were reported.

    No boats fished inshore or offshore today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was partly cloudy with some rain showers late in the day.  The winds were from the north-west at 5 mph and the temperatures were in the low 60’s.  Tomorrow we have 1-2 inches of rain in the forecast due to a low pressure moving up the coast, but the weekend weather looks good.

    Up on the Avon beaches today sea mullet, more big red drum and some puppy drum were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches bluefish, puppy drum, some flounder, blow toads and sea mullet were caught.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton a few puppy drum and bluefish were caught. On the Frisco beaches today a few puppy drum and bluefish were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach some bluefish, flounder, sea mullet and puppy drum were reported.

    The inshore boats had excellent puppy drum fishing and some real good speckled trout catches in the Pamlico Sound today.

    The offshore boats caught lots of black fin tuna.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was partly cloudy with some heavy rain showers early.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 60’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches today sea mullet and some puppy drum were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches the speckled trout are showing up along with bluefish, puppy drum and sea mullet. Out at Cape Point in Buxton a few puppy drum, big red drum and yearling drum were caught. Over on the Frisco beaches bluefish and a few puppy drum were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach some bluefish, flounder, sea mullet and a few speckled trout were caught.

    No boats out inshore or offshore today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had warmer temperatures and rain off and on today.  The high was 66F.  The winds were south-south-east, starting out light around 9 mph and increasing through the night up to 25 mph with gusts up to 34 mph.

    The speckled trout have made their showing on the ocean side.  They have been caught from Avon beach to Frisco Pier.  Some nice size ones and some on the small size.  All you need is a jig head, artificial grub and find the right hole.  Avon beach reports a few speckled trout, bluefish, sea mullet and puppy drum.  Avon Pier had a good run of red drum this morning.  They reported over 25 caught and released.  Pictured below is Rod and Gun’s own “Tater” with one of his drum catches this morning.  Perty fish Tater!  Buxton beach reports speckled trout, bluefish, sea mullet and gray trout.  There were some keeper flounder caught on the north side of the Point as well as some bluefish.  Frisco beach had some speckled trout, black drum and puppy drum.  Hatteras beach had bluefish, sea mullet and flounder.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The sun was shining and the winds were calm. The temperature was in the lower 50’s and the winds were light from the north-north-east.

    From the beach today the fishing was better than it has been. In Avon there was sea-mullet puppy drum, and speckled trout caught. In Buxton there was black drum, puppy drum, sea-mullet, and speckled trout caught. In Frisco the bluefish and sea-mullet were biting. In Hatteras there was bluefish, sea-mullet, speckled trout, and puppy drum caught.

    The offshore boats had limits of king mackerel and some scattered dolphin caught.

    No reports from the inshore boats.
