    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    We had a beautiful day on Hatteras Island.  We had light breezes all day, it did a lot of switching though.  Started out northwest, and ended up out of the southeast this evening.  The temperatures reached mid to upper 80’s today.

    Avon beach had spot and croaker to report.  Buxton reports sea mullet and pompano.  Frisco reports sea mullet and pompano as well.  Hatteras beach reports small bluefish, pompano, sea mullet and flounder.

    The inshore boats saw schools of puppy drum today.  They caught puppy drum and bluefish.

    The offshore boats had good catches of dolphin, several wahoo and some amberjack.  Pictured below is Godspeed Charters with a wahoo they caught today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    With rain showers this morning the day stared slow. The winds were calm but never had a consistent direction throughout the day. The temperature was around 80 for most of the day when the rain showers left.

    Even with the rain showers the fishing was good today. In Rodanthe there was a 59 lb cobia caught along with some flounder and grey trout. Avon the spot. sea-mullet, croaker are still hanging out. Buxton today was slow with just some spot caught. From the beaches in Frisco there were sea-mullet-pompano and some bluefish.

    The drum bite is still good in the sound. Here’s Stanley Ballance with a nice sized one caught today.

    Offshore the boats that went out had to fish around the rain storms but still caught fish. There were some blue marlins, white marlins, and some sailfish caught. Also a few bottom fish caught along with some wahoo and dolphin.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Partly cloudy skies again today. Today started out nice and calm with North-East winds at 5-10 MPH but picked up to 15-20 MPH. The sun was shining with little clouds which made the temperature stay around 80 today.

    The fishing slowed down today compared to yesterday. the Sea-Mullet were caught all over the island today. In Avon the Spot and Croaker were caught off the pier. In Hatteras the Bluefish, Sheepshead, Croakers, and Spot were caught.

    The Puppy Drum bite is still good inshore. The Spanish and Bluefish were caught again today just outside the inlet.

    Offshore today was short fishing time due to wind but the fishing was good. The Dolphin are continuing to bite along with the Wahoo. there was also some King Mackerel, Albacore, and some Amberjack caught. Also a Blue Marlin released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we partly cloudy skies with periods of sunshine..  The winds were from the north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Today was much nicer than yesterday.  The Avon beaches had some croakers reported.  The Buxton beaches were a little better with spot, bluefish, sea mullet and a few flounder.  Over on the Frisco beach we had some sea mullet, pompano, a puppy drum and keeper flounder.  The Hatteras beaches. had a few puppy drum and some flounder.

    The inshore boats had a good catch of puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound and just out side of Hatteras Inlet some decent bluefish catches and a few spanish mackerel.

    The offshore boats had a pretty good day fishing with dolphin and black fin tuna bite pretty good and an excellent day of wahoo fishing.  There were a few blue marlin and sail fish released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had rainy skies all day.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s. The wind has switched north as of late tonight.

    Even though it rained most of the day there were still some folks fishing.  Up on the Avon beach there were croaker caught.  Around the Buxton beaches spot, croaker and sea mullet were reported.  On the Frisco beach today we had some sea mullet and a nice black drum caught by Nathan Browning of Ball Ground GA.  Pretty work Nathan!!!

    The inshore boats had a good catch of puppy drum.

    No boats ventured offshore today.
