• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Another beautiful day here on Hatteras Island.  We had clear skies, with a high of 79F and ESE winds around 9mph.

    Avon beach had some sea mullet.  At Ramp 44 in Buxton, there were reports of spanish mackerel.  Also in Buxton, behind the motels were bluefish and sea mullet.  Here in Frisco, there were sea mullet and pompano.  Hatteras beach had reports of a few flounder and some sea mullet, pompano and bluefish.

    Inshore boats had good catches of red drum, good spanish mackerel and some cobia.  The picture below is the Hang On with some red drum and cobia they caught sight casting.

    Lots of flags flappin’ today!  There were 8 sailfish releases and 2 blue marlin.  It was good dolphin fishing, with some wahoo and yellowfin tuna mixed in.  Pictured below is Bite Me with a citation dolphin.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    What a beautiful day here on Hatteras Island.  We had a high of 73F, with winds out of the north-east around 15 mph.

    Avon beach had some sea mullet today.  Buxton beach had some sea mullet.  Ramp 49 had lots of sea mullet.  There were a lot in the pound in a half range.  There were also a few small flounder.  Frisco Pier had some pompano this morning.

    The inshore boats caught spanish mackerel, red drum and small flounder.  The offshore boats came back to the docks with good catches of dolphin, gaffers and bailers.  Some boats had their limits.  They had good catches of yellowfin tuna and a few wahoo.  There were three sailfish released today.  Pictured below is Sea Creature with a sailfish release.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The weather today was much prettier. The rain showers were scattered in the morning. The temperature was in the upper 70’s and wind was 15-20 mph from the East.

    The fish moved north on the beach today. The Drum were caught in Salvo. From Rodanthe Peir the Croaker, Sea-Mullet, Spanish Mackeral, Bluefish, and small Flounder. In Avon the Sea-Mullet were caught. From the Frisco beaches there were a few Pompano caught.

    The Puppy Drum fishing was good again today. The Clamming picked up today also.

    The Billfish bite was at its best today. There was multiple Blue and White Marlins also with some Saifish. The Dolphin bite was good again today. Yellowfin Tuna were caught today had and they had good size to them. The Wahoo bite was slow but some were caught. From the bottom there were Tiles an Amberjacks. one boat had an overnight charter and caught 7 Hammerhaed sharks.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today the weather wasn’t the best although the sun did shine for a little around noon. The rain showers were scattered all day. The temperature was around 80 for most of the day. Winds were East at 5-10 mph.

    Avon was the hot spot to be today, the Spanish, Bluefish, Spot, and Croaker were caught. From Buxton and Frisco beaches the Pompano and Sea-Mullet were biting early in the day and slowed down in the after noon when the weather turned.

    Inshore today the Puppy Drum fishing was really good.

    Offshore the fishing was great even with some nasty weather. The Bailer and Gaffer Dolphin were biting good. A scattered Wahoo and Tuna bite today with both Yellowfin and Blackfin. The White and Blue Marlins were around again today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island. The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.  On the Avon beach some spot and some croaker were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches only a few puppy drum and pompano were reported.  The Picture below is Rebekah Galicia with a citation 2 lb 8 oz pompano caught on the Buxton beach. IMG958413 Over on the Frisco beach some sea mullet were caught .

    The inshore fishing in the Pamlico Sound was pretty good today with lots of puppy drum and some speckled and gray trout. The offshore boats had another real good marlin bite today.  Several white marlin and lots of dolphin with a few blackfin tuna mixed in.  The “Brothers Pride” brought in a 664 lb blue marlin today that came up tail wrapped.
