• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had cloudy skies and scattered thunderstorms again. South West winds at 5-10 MPH and temperature in the lower 80’s.

    Even with the cloudy weather the fish were being caught. Avon today had a large variety of fish caught. the Sea-Mullet, Croakers, Spot, and Grey Trout. In Buxton Sea-Mullet, Spot, and some Sheepshead at the Jetties. In Frisco Sea-Mullet and some Bluefish. In Hatteras today a nice Cobia was caught along with Puppy Drum and Bluefish.

    Jacques Cueff of Quebec, Canada caught a nice 50 pound Cobia today in Hatteras off Ramp 55.

    Inshore today the Speckled Trout and Drum fishing was good.

    Offshore there were limits of Dolphin with a scattered bite of Wahoo. There was a good billfish bite today also. the Blue Marlin, White Marlin, And Sailfish were caught.

    Today was the second day of the 2014 10th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam Billfish Tournament.  Participants fish 2 out of 3 days. Today there was a total of 14 hookups. 4 Blue and White Marlin, 3 Sailfish, and 3 Pulled hooks.   • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a little nicer.  We had south-west winds 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    On the Avon beach there were some spot and sea mullet reported.  Around the Buxton beaches sharks, spot, croaker and sea mullet were caught.  The fishing on the southern beaches were slow.

    The inshore boats had good catches puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore fishing was really good today with limits of dolphin and some nice wahoo.  The gray tile, snapper and triggerfish bite was good from the bottom.

    Today was the first day of the 2014 10th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam Billfish Tournament.  Participants fish 2 out of 3 days.   • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had breezy conditions.  The winds were from the south-west at 15-20 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s

    Up on the Avon beach today only some spot and sharks were caught.  The Buxton beach had some bluefish, sea mullet and puppy drum catches reported.  Over on the Frisco beach the sea mullet bite was decent and there were a few more puppy drum caught today.  The Hatteras beach had some reports of flounder.

    The inshore boats had good catches of gray trout and puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound.

    Today the offshore conditions were a little on the rough side today, but a few boats did fish and they had limits of dolphin.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    With South-West winds at 10-15 MPH and the sun shining it was a hot day today. The temperature was in the upper 80’s throughout the day.

    The fishing was pretty scattered today. In Avon there were Spot, Croakers, few Blues, and Spade Fish at the pier. Frisco there were some Sea-Mullet and a scatted Drum bite. In Hatteras the Sea-Mullet, Bluefish, Flounder, and Croakers.

    Sandy Madre caught this nice 31 Puppy Drum today off ramp 49.

    The Spanish and Drum fishing was good again today for the inshore boats that braved the wind. In the sound the Speckled Trout, Grey Trout, and Flounder were caught.

    Offshore today the boats had limits of Dolphin. There was a very scattered Wahoo bite today also.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was partly cloudy with light winds out of the south-east, switching to the south this evening.  The temperature was around 82F.

    Ramp 44 had reports of sea mullet, pompano, spots and bluefish.  Ramp 49 had reports of black drum, sea mullet, pompano and puppy drum.  Hatteras beach had reports of sheepshead, pompano and sea mullet.

    Good puppy drum fishing in the sound.

    A few charter boats made it offshore today.  They had good catches of dolphin.  There was one white marlin and one sailfish release today.
