    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was mostly cloudy skies with steady winds out of the north-east at 10 to 15 mph with some higher gusts.  We had a temperature of 51F.

    There was a few guys who braved mother nature and tried their luck at fishing.  Definitely a bit slower today.  Here at Ramp 49, there were a few blow toads caught and sharks.

    Due to the wind, there are no inshore or offshore boats out today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a nice, sunny day. The temperature this morning was in the upper 60’s, but dropped this afternoon to the mid 50’s. Since last night, the wind speeds dropped to 5-10mph and stayed from the South West until around noon, then shifted to North East.

    A few puppy drum were caught today on the Frisco beaches. In Hatteras today the big drum showed up. Joe Dollar from Charlotte, NC had a nice 43 inch red drum from ramp 55 in Hatteras today.

    A few of the inshore charter captain’s got to get some time on the water today. There were plenty of puppy drum caught today to keep their parties happy.

    There is no offshore report for today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The temperature today was in the upper 60’s. The sky was clear, and winds were South West at 10-15mph in the morning. Later in the day the winds picked up to 20-25mph with gusts of 35mph.

    Today there were reports of some nice sized sea mullet off ramp 43 in Buxton. The people that were willing to walk to the point caught a few puppy drum. Also at the point today there were some sand tiger sharks caught. At the Frisco beaches today there were some puppy drum caught.

    The inshore and offshore boats had to stay at the dock due to wind today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had wonderful day. The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 60’s.

    On the Buxton beaches some blow toads were reported.  The puppy drum bite was a little slower on the Frisco beach but some were caught this morning.  Reports of sea mullet down on the Hatteras beaches also came in today.

     

    The inshore boats had some decent puppy drum fishing in the Pamlico Sound.  The offshore boats caught tile fish and trigger fish.  The “Tuna Duck”  charter boat came across a school of cobia on the way home today and hooked up 3 nice cobia for the ride home. The picture is the biggest of 51 lbs.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had another nice day. The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 60’s.

    They closed Cape Point in Buxton today due to a couple of Piping Plovers exhibiting mating behavior.  Puppy drum were caught on the Buxton beach today by the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse Jetties.  The Frisco Beaches over on Ramp 49 had excellent puppy drum catches throughout the day with the morning bite being better.  A few sea mullet were also reported.  The picture below is Jack Revere with one of the puppy drum he and his dad caught today on the Frisco Beach.  Pretty work Jack!!

    The inshore boats had excellent puppy drum fishing in the Pamlico Sound.  The offshore boats caught a few dolphin, some albacore, tile fish and trigger fish.
