Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had sunny skies   The winds were from the south-west at 5-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s

On the Buxton beach some sea mullet,  a few puppy drum and pompano were caught. Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet and pompano were reported.  Hatteras beaches had a nice cobia caught, some bluefish, spot, sea mullet and pompano reported.

The inshore boats caught a few cobia and spanish mackerel along the beaches.  Some decent speckled trout fishing was reported today in the Pamlico Sound.

The offshore fleet in Hatteras had excellent blue marlin fishing today.  10 Blue marlins, 2 white marlin and 2 sailfish were released.

The dolphin fishing was really good.  A few nice yellowfin and blackfin tunas and wahoo were caught.  The bottom fishing boats had good red snapper and trigger fishing.

The 3rd day of The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament  was filled with excitement.   10 blue marlin, 5 white marlin and 4 sailfish were caught.  The “Hatteras Fever II”  with Capt. Buddy Hooper from Buxton NC boated a blue marlin today  weighing 465.3 lbs to take the lead in the  The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament.  Pretty Work Guys!!!

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had mostly sunny skies with heavy rain showers briefly around noon.  The winds were from the south-west at 15-20 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s

On the Buxton beach some sea mullet, puppy drum and bluefish were reported.  No reports from the Frisco beach.  Hatteras beaches had some bluefish, spot, croaker and sea mullet reported.

The inshore boats caught a few big red drum and speckled trout today in the Pamlico Sound.

The offshore fleet in Hatteras stayed at the dock today.

The 2nd day of The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament  was rough and only 10 boats elected to fish.  Only one white marlin was released today and a few wahoo and dolphin were caught.  The “Sensation”  that boated the first blue marlin of the tournament weighing 423.8 lbs to take the lead on Monday is still on top going into the third day of the 55th Big Rock.  The weather tomorrow is looking better for fishing.

Today we had mostly sunny skies.  The winds were from the south-west at 10-20 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s

The fishing was a decent today.  On the Buxton beach some sea mullet, pompano and bluefish were reported.  The Frisco and Hatteras beaches had some bluefish and sea mullet reported.

The inshore boats caught red drum and flounder today in the Pamlico Sound.

The offshore fleet had good catches of dolphin and yellowfin tuna.  No billfish from the Hatteras fleet today.

The 1st day of The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament was full of blue marlin releases and some nice size dolphin.  11 blue marlin, 4 white marlin and a sail fish were released today.   The “Sensation” boated the first blue marlin of the tournament weighing 423.8 lbs to take the lead in the 55th Big Rock.

Today we had mostly sunny skies with a few late afternoon showers.  The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s

The fishing was a little slow today.  Only some sea mullet were reported on the Buxton beaches.  The Frisco beach had some sea mullet and bluefish.  Down on the Hatteras beaches sea mullet, some spot and bluefish were reported.  The Big drum made a showing down at Hatteras Inlet just after dark tonight.

The inshore boats caught speckled and gray trout today in the Pamlico Sound.

The offshore fleet had good catches of gaffer size dolphin, some boats caught some blackfin tunas and a scattered yellowfin tuna was reported.  One white marlin was released.

Tomorrow is the first day of The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament.  We want to wish all participants good luck and good fishing and especially our local boats:  “Hatteras Fever II”, “Islander”, “Release”, “Sea Creature”, “Swordfish”, “Tuna Duck” and “Whatever”  We hope to see one or all of you backing into the The Big Rock scales.

Today we had much better weather.  The winds were from south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

The ocean was still rough with no reports from the beaches or from the boats.  The grass on the Frisco and Hatteras beach were pretty bad with the north beaches are still holding lots of swell.
