• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a wash out.  Tropical Storm Andrea passed through just to the west of Hatteras Island and brought lots of rain early with  high winds to follow.  We had south winds 20-35 mph and some gusts to 53 mph.

    The ocean was rough with no reports from the beaches or from the boats.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was nice and sunny until the rain showers arrived in the late afternoon.   The winds were from the south-east at 10-20 mph with the temperatures in the mid 80’s.

    The sea mullet and pompano bite was decent on most beaches from Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras.  A few bluefish and flounder were reported on the Hatteras beach.

    The inshore boats caught lots of spanish mackerel and some speckled trout in the Pamlico Sound.  The offshore boats had another good day of fishing with citation dolphin being caught along with blackfin tuna and wahoo   Three blue marlin and two white marlin were released today..  The “Good Times” charter boat had a nice citation spanish mackerel weighing 6 lb pictured below.

  • Jim Simmons Pompano

    Jim Simmons of Frisco caught a 1 lb 12 oz pompano while fishing the Buxton beach yesterday.  Today he’s looking for a citation of 2 lbs.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was nice and sunny.   The winds were from the north-east at 5-10 mph with the temperatures in the upper 70’s.

    The Buxton beaches had citation sea mullet, bluefish and pompano.  Out at Cape Point good spanish mackerel and bluefish catches were reported .  The Frisco beach had some sea mullet and pompano caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach there were sea mullet,, bluefish and a cobia caught.

    The inshore boats caught some spanish mackerel and bluefish from the ocean around Hatteras Inlet.  In the Pamlico Sound good catches of speckled trout and puppy drum were reported.  The offshore boats had a good day of fishing with citation dolphin being caught and some boats had a mess of nice yellowfin tuna.  A few wahoo and black fin tuna were also reported.  2 blue marlin and 2 white marlin were released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had partly sunny skies.  The winds were from the north-east at 5-12 mph with the temperatures in the upper 70’s.

    The Buxton beaches had sea mullet, bluefish and croaker.  Out at Cape Point a few spanish mackerel and bluefish were reported.  The Frisco beach had some sea mullet caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach there were black drum, bluefish and croakers caught.

    No fish to report from the inshore boats.  Some good clamming though.

    The offshore boats caught lots of dolphin and some yellowfin and blackfin tuna.  A couple of blue marlin and a few white marlin were released today.
