• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today the weather was still nice.  We had sunny skies with south-west winds at 10-15 mph with the temperatures in the low 70’s.

The water on the Frisco beach was a little dirty but blow toads were biting and a nice 45″ red drum was also caught.  A few sea mullet and blow toads were reported on the Hatteras beach.

No boats fished inshore today.  The offshore boats had a good day fishing.  The king mackerel bite was rally good. A few dolphin and yellowfin tuna were brought back to the dock.  The bottom fishing was good with trigger fish, tile fish and grouper being caught.  The nice catch of dolphin from the “Bite Me” charter is pictured below.

Today was another sunny day.  We had sunny skies with south-west winds at 5-10 mph with the temperatures in the upper 60’s.

The NPS has closed Cape Point today to ORV traffic due to some bird scratching (nesting behavior).  You can still make the trip by foot.

The blow toad bite is still good on the Frisco beaches with some nice puppy drum action there too.  The Hatteras beaches had some grass and made fishing difficult.

There have been a few speckled trout caught inshore down on Ocracoke.  Only a few boats fishing offshore today and they caught a few dolphin, amberjack. and from the bottom there were some trigger fish, ling cod, rose fish and tilefish caught.

Today was beautiful.  We had sunny skies with light south-east winds with the temperatures reaching 71 degrees.

The blow toads and sea mullets were caught from all beaches.  Avon, Cape Point, Frisco and Hatteras beaches were all decent using shrimp and bloodworms.  A few puppy drum were caught on the Hatteras beach also.

No boats fishing inshore and the offshore fishing was slow but the weather was so nice.  A few dolphin, wahoo, blackfin and yellowfin tunas were caught on the troll.  Plenty of amberjacks were caught and those who made drops to the bottom were rewarded with tilefish and grouper.
