• Hatteras Island Fishing Report 2-6

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today was mostly sunny.  The winds were from the north-east at 8-12 mph and the temperatures were around 50 degrees.  Not to much to report today.   I did hear of some blow toads on the south beach.  I am not sure where exactly.  No boats went offshore today.  A charter boat the “Drum Stick” out of Ocracoke caught a blue marlin yesterday.  It not uncommon for a few blue marlin to be caught this time of year.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today was windy and rainy early.  We had north winds 15-20 mph and some showers in the morning.  The temperatures were in the low 50’s.  With the rain this morning and the super bowl on this afternoon, early evening I do not think anyone fished.  I have no reports from the surf and no one went out offshore today.  With the reports of striped bass around Oregon Inlet and the north winds we have now and will have for most of the week,  it might be worth the trip to fish the Pea Island area or maybe even the beaches north of Avon.  There have been some speckled trout caught north of Avon off and on most of the winter also.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report 2-4

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today was sunny and warm with calm winds.  We had light north-west winds at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 50’s to low 60’s.  The beach report consists of a few dog sharks and skates out at Cape Point and down the south beach to Frisco.  We did have some reports of guys catching some striped bass out at the beaches around Oregon Inlet.  Its better late than never, but it would be nicer to see them come even further south.  Today the offshore fishing was filled with action and nice weather.   Lots of bluefin tuna on the bottom machine and busting on bait on the surface,  but they were not real hungry.  Some boats caught 2 and some caught none.  They would get a few hooks ups and pull the hook. A few yellowfin tuna and some amberjacks were also caught.

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today was a little cooler with plenty of sunshine.  We had north winds at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 40’s.  The speckled trout bite at the jetties in Buxton from yesterday did not carry over today.  No reports from the surf or from the offshore fleet.  There are some charters booked for tomorrow and the offshore forecast looks really good with north-west winds 5-10 knots and the seas 2-4 feet.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report 2-2

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

Today was sunny but a little windy.  We had west winds at 15-20 mph and the temperatures were in the low 60’s.  This morning the speckled trout bit a little at the jetties in Buxton.  Well a few boats did make it out offshore today.  The winds were more westerly for most of the day so Hatteras Inlet was a little more manageable, but still rough.  They did manage some good blackfin  and few yellowfin tuna.  The hammerhead sharks have been hard on the tunas, some times your bringing up just the head.
