Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today we had sunny skies.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

Today the fishing was a little better.  The Avon and Buxton beaches had some sea mullet and blow toads reported.  The Frisco beaches had sea mullet.  The Hatteras beach had sea mullet and a 40 lb cobia caught by Roy Kiser form Salem VA.

The inshore boats caught puppy drum, gray trout and sheepshead today in the Pamlico Sound.  The spanish mackerel bite was pretty good around Hatteras Inlet.

The offshore boats had good dolphin fishing and decent black fin tuna fishing.  A few wahoo were also caught.  The red snapper bite was good too from the bottom.

The 57th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament had another good day of fishing.  13 blue marlin and four white marlin were released.  The “Reel Pleasure” boated a 451.8 lb blue marlin to  land itself on top of the inaugural outboard level of the tournament.  For all the current information click the link: http://www.thebigrock.com/leaderboard/2015/2015-tournament-leaderboard
