Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

High temperature for today was 72F with winds out of the NE at 34mph. Made for a tricky day fishing off of the surf and in the sound.

Looks like these high winds are going to stick around until Wednesday, dying down by Thursday.

Some larger citation size Red Drum were caught off of ramp 55 last night. Few Flounder caught in the sound today up towards Buxton. Should still be some puppy Drum at the point.

No report here off the surf on ramp 49.

No offshore or inshore reports again today due to the inclement weather.

Beautiful day here on the island.! High of 82F with winds out of the East at 13mph.

Bluefish bite has been on today from the point to Hatteras. Finger Mullet being the bait of choice. Some slot size Red Drum caught north of the point. Drum bite has been good in the sound. We have plenty of fresh finger Mullet here at the shop so come stock up!!

Only a couple of boats went offshore today out of Hatteras. Those who did had a slow day with a few Dolphin, Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo. Nearshore boats trolled for Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish

Inshore boats did well with Red Drum.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Sunny skies today with a High of 79F, winds out of the NE at 22mph made it a little rough of a day for fishing off the beaches. Looks like we are going to see the winds die down a bit Wednesday afternoon into Thursday.

Red Drum reported in the sound from Buxton down to the inlet in Hatteras. Most have been caught on finger sized Mullet. Speckled Trout bite has slowed a bit but we still had reports of some taken sound side in Buxton.

No offshore report today. Winds kept the fleet at the dock.

The inshore boats that did go out today did well with Red Drum and lots of Bluefish.
