• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
    Today was mostly sunny with a little bit of wind.  The winds were from the west at 10-20 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 60’s.
    Up on the Avon and Buxton beaches there have been sea mullet, blow toads, spot and some puppy drum and  a few big red drum as well.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton bluefish, big red drum and some sea mullet were reported.  Over on the Frisco and Hatteras beach bluefish, sea mullet and a few puppy drum have been caught.
    The inshore boats are catching speckled trout and puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound today.
    The offshore boats had good king mackerel action and a few black fin tuna caught today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
    Today was mostly cloudy with a little bit of sun.  We had rain showers at times.  The temperatures were in the upper 50’s and the winds were variable.
    The drum bite at Cape Point is the big talk today.  There were drum of every size caught, several papers to be written  We have a few pictures to share below.  There were also some speckled trout and sea mullet in Avon.  The jetties had some undersized puppy drum and speckled trout.  Pictured below is Brett Compton, Ginger Young and Curtis Compton with their drum from the bite today.  Purty fish!!

    The inshore boats had catches of king mackerel and keeper speckled trout, with some throwbacks mixed in.
    It was another excellent day catching king mackerels for the offshore fleet.  The blackfin catches were fair and a few dolphin were mixed in.

    Akios S Line Series

    Akios flagship reel is the S-line 656 CTM, which is the casters dream due to all the tech spec of brass gears, carbon drag washers, brass, chrome plated corrosion resistant side plates, upgraded stainless power handle, upgraded spool release spring to stop reel re-engaging during cast, centrifugal brake, fully adjustable magnetic brake again positioned on left hand side plate by the turn of the chromed knobby. This model being a CT has no level wind and therefore has no resistance during cast and will cast to the horizon! Be sure to take care and get ready with the brakes!!
    S-line 757 Series
    The S-line 757 series reels are the big brothers to the S-line 656 series and are used for either heavy ground casting and retrieving where a powerful reel is required with larger capacity, uptide fishing or general boat fishing where TORQUE and winding power are required when pumping fish from the depths below a boat.
    S-Line 757CT
    S-Line 757CT is a specialist larger reel which has many of the features of the 757CS above but eliminates the level wind and sports a CT open frame for casting longer distances and relies on a proficient caster and centrifugal brakes to control the spool, the S-Line 757 CT has a larger capacity and has all the same benefits as the 757CS which include, features chrome plated brass side plates, upgraded stainless steel power handle, machined brass cut gears, carbon drag system, centrifugal braking, a larger spindle to prevent flex and jamming of the spool, dual anti-reverse, corrosion resistant instant anti reverse bearing, Japanese stainless steel bearings, line out alarm, high torque winding power, but with open CT cage for long range casting.
    S-Line 757CTM

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
    We had a beautiful day here on Hatteras Island. We reached a high in the mid 60’s.  We had winds out of the north-north-east between 3-10 mph.
    We had reports this morning at the jetties some speckled trout, puppy drum and sheepshead were caught.  Here in Frisco we had small bluefish.  Hatteras had some flounder, black drum, sheepshead and blow toads.
    There is no inshore report for today.
    The offshore boats came back with excellent catches of king mackerel and blackfin tuna with a few dolphin and yellowfin tuna mixed in.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.
    Today temperatures were in the 60s throughout the day. Winds were North around 5 mph gusting to 10 around 1pm
    Drum and blues have been reported ta the point. Along with a few fish caught over 49.
    A few offshore boats went out and caught scattered Blackfin Tuna, King Mackerel, and dolphin.
