    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The southwest winds continue today, keeping our temperature just under 80F today.  Those winds though, increase more as the day went on… from 12-16 mph, with some at 22 mph at times.

    Avon is reporting sea mullet, bluefish and croaker.  Buxton had some bluefish and sea mullet.  Here in Frisco there were some sea mullet and pompano.  Hatteras had some small flounder and sea mullet.

    The inshore boats had catches of cobia, red drum and spanish mackerel.

    The offshore boats had excellent catches of dolphin, a few wahoo, and yellowfin tuna.  They also had good catches of blackfin tuna.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we reached 80F and the winds were out of the southwest between 10-15 mph.

    There were several cobia caught off Avon Pier today.  There were also some sea mullet and bluefish scattered up and down the beaches.  Here in Frisco there were some pompano and sea mullet being caught.

    The inshore boats had catches of red drum.

    The boats that ventured offshore had catches of dolphin and grouper.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had sunny skies. The winds were from the south at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach a few bluefish and puppy drum were caught.  Around the Buxton beach bluefish and sea mullet were reported. Over on the Frisco beach citation pompano and sea mullet were caught.

    There were several citation pompano caught today.  Bernie McCants brought in a 4 pound 1 ounce Pompano and Jim Price with a 2 lb 2 oz pompano.

    The offshore boats caught a few dolphin, black fin tuna and wahoo.  A few blue marlin and white marlin were released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had mostly sunny skies with calm winds.  The winds were from the south at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach bluefish and puppy drum were caught.  Around the Buxton beach bluefish, sea mullet, puppy drum and a cobia was caught out at Cape Point.  Over on the Frisco beach citation pompano, sea mullet, black drum and puppy drum were caught.

    The offshore boats caught Dolphin,  Blackfin Tuna and  3 Blue Marlin were released.

    The inshore boats caught some Puppy Drum and Bluefish in the Pamlico Sound.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had cloudy skies with some rain off and on. The winds were from the south at 14-19 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 70’s.

    Up on the Avon pier Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish were reported. Out at Cape Point in Buxton a few Puppy Drum and Bluefish were caught.  Frisco beach a few sea mullet  were reported.

    Josh Pruitt from Berlin, MD caught a 26 inch Red Drum by ramp 32.

    The offshore boats caught Dolphin,  Blackfin Tuna and a few Blue Marlin were released.

    The inshore boats found some Puppy Drum, Spanish Mackerel, and Bluefish.

    AFTCO tapered Fiberglass Gaffs feature special thick-walled, super strong, yet lightweight E-glass handle construction, custom-designed for extreme strength and rigidity.  All of our fiberglass handles are rolled on proprietary mandrels using specific tapers developed by AFTCO, and are fitted in our factory with the same stainless steel hooks used in our popular Taper-Tip Aluminum Gaffs.  Our exclusive “wedge-lok” assembly process is used to secure all of the hooks into the E-glass handles.  Featuring a rich-looking dark brown epoxy finish with hand-wrapped black and metallic gold-and-blue thread trim wraps, each gaff has a handsome and extremely functional black nylon seine cord-wrapped handle with hand-finished Turk’s heads on each end of the wrapped grips.  Seine cord and Turk’s heads are finished with epoxy for durability and extra tackiness when gripped with wet or slimy hands.  A large rubber “mushroom-style” butt cap finishes the butt-end of each handle.  AFTCO Fiberglass Gaffs are available in 4, 6, and 8-foot lengths with 2, 3, or 4-inch hooks.  All of the 2 and 3-inch hooks are 5/16″ diameter 316L stainless steel, and the 4-inch hooks are 3/8″ diameter N50 stainless steel.  The 6 and 8-foot models will float if dropped overboard.
