• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Scattered rain showers throughout the day made for a slow day fishing. The temperatures were around 70. Winds were from the East at 10-20 mph.

    Fair fishing even thought the weather wasn’t great. Sea-mullet and puppy drum all along the beach today. At the point there was keeper puppy drum and some nice red drum released.

    On the sound side tonight Rick Mitok caught this nice 19 inch speckled trout.

    Inshore today there was keeper puppy drum caught and some red drum released. The bluefish bite was fair today.

    Offshore was slower today. The dolphin bite was good this afternoon. Scattered bite from the black-fin and yellow-fin tuna today. There was a few king mackerel caught today also.

     

    Today was the 3rd day of the Hatteras Village Offshore Open it was slower today with 1 blue marlin released and 1 brought to the scales.  Check out HVOO link for more information. Here is Mollie Whopper with the 595 pound blue marlin they caught today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had calm winds and sunny skies. The winds were from the north at 5 mph.   The temperatures were in the low 70’s.

    Around the Buxton beaches sea mullet and spanish mackerel were reported.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton bluefish, spanish mackerel and sea mullet were reported.  Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet, bluefish and some puppy drum were caught.

    The inshore boats had excellent spanish mackerel, good bluefish action and the puppy drum bite was good. There were a few cobia’s caught as well.

    The offshore boats had excellent gaffer dolphin action, a good tuna bite of blackfin, yellowfin and big eye.  Good triggerfishing was reported off the bottom.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was another beautiful day with light winds.  The winds were from the north-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.

    Avon Pier had some nice spanish mackerel catches today.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton several spanish mackerel and bluefish were reported.  The Frisco beaches had sea mullet and blow toads today.

    The inshore boats caught cobia, big bluefish, puppy drum and some speckled trout today in and around Hatteras Inlet.

    The offshore boats caught dolphin, a few yellowfin tuna, wahoo and blackfin tuna today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a beautiful day here on Hatteras Island.  We had light north winds this morning and light north-north-east winds this evening and temperatures in the low 70’s.

    Avon Pier had some nice size sheepshead today.  There were a few bluefish, puppy drum and some sea mullet caught today.  Yesterday evening/last night there were a few sea mullet around, there were also some drum caught at the Point and Hatteras.

    The inshore boats caught bluefish, a few cobia and some spanish mackerel.

    The offshore boats caught a few wahoo, yellowfin and blackfin tuna.  Those that bottomfished caught grouper and tile were.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a beautiful, but breezy day.  We had westerly winds around 12 mph and reached a high of 70F.

    Avon had reports of puppy drum and gray trout today.  The Point had some puppy drum and yearlings.  On the southside of the Point there were sea mullet, bluefish and croakers.

    The inshore boats caught puppy drum, bluefish and a flounder.

    The winds kept the offshore boats to the dock today.
