• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    For the most part today the weather was great. There was some scattered shower throughout the day and early tonight there was some thunder storms roll through. The winds were 5-10 mph from the North. Temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    From the beach today there was fair fishing. In Avon there was sea-mullet and coaker biting off the beach. Off the Pier there was sea-mullet, pompano, and croaker caught. In Buxton there was small bluefish and spanish mackerel mixed with some puppy drum and pompano. In Frisco there was bluefish and sea-mullet biting. Hatteras beach had Bluefish spanish mackerel, sea-mullet, pompano, and small flounder caught.

    Inshore today the target was bluefish and spanish mackerel. A few boats found some king mackerel near shore today.

    Offshore the billfish were biting with sailfish and blue marlin being released today. Dolphin fishing was good and wahoo fishing was great with a few boats getting limits. Yellow-fin and Black-fin tuna were biting god today also. From the bottom there was sea bass, triggerfish, vermillion snapper and amberjack caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Well the tropical depression just barley missed us with only giving us one solid rain band.  The rest of the day was nice and partly sunny with calm winds.  We do expect to rain from TS Hermine over the weekend.

    Today we had south-east winds at 10 mph  and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    Up on the Buxton beaches around Cape Point there were bluefish, spanish mackerel, croaker, a few pompano and sea mullet caught.

    Down on the Hatteras beach spanish mackerel and bluefish were reported.

    The inshore boats caught bluefsh and nice citation red drum in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats had decent catches of wahoo, dolphin and a few blackfin tuna.  The tilefish and grouper fishing was good from the bottom.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we are feeling effects of a Tropical Depression that is predicted to pass very close to us tonight bringing 20-30 mph winds with possible gusts 40-50 mph with lots of rain.

    Today we had north-east winds 10-15 mph  and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s with rain mid morning.

    With the ocean stirred up only some bluefish and croaker were reported on the Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras beaches.

    No boats fishing inshore or offshore today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Still a few scattered rain showers early this morning. The temperatures were in the mid 80’s. Winds were from the North-East at 10-15 mph.

    Slow fishing off the beach today, In Avon there was a few sea-mullet, croaker, and spot caught. Off the pier there was a few spot, sea-mullet, blowtoads, and small bluefish. In Buxton there was a scattered bluefish bite today. Here in Frisco there was Some croaker biting. In Hatteras there was small bluefish, some croaker, and sea-mullet biting.

     

    Inshore today there was still some good fishing. There was a great red drum bite with most being released. Just outside the inlet there was a great bluefish and spanish mackerel.

    Offshore there was some great wahoo and black-fin tuna fishing. Bottom fishing and the dolphin bite was scattered.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had some much-needed rain.  It didn’t last very long, but a lot came down in a short period of time.  We reached a high of 81F today.  We had very little wind, mostly out of the northeast.

    There was a few fish around today, if you were in the right spot.  Avon reports spot, sea mullet and small bluefish.  At the Pier there was small bluefish, spanish mackerel, spot, spadefish and sea mullet.  Buxton had reports of pompano, sea mullet, spanish mackerel and bluefish.  Pictured below is Jeff and Sandy Madre, Percy Houchens and Susan McClanahan caught a mess of pompanos on Buxton beach today.  Frisco had small bluefish and sea mullet.  Hatteras had small flounder, small bluefish, a few spanish mackerel and pompano.

    The inshore boats had catches of red drum, spanish mackerel, bluefish and trout.

    The offshore boats had catches of wahoo and blackfin tuna.  Boats that bottomfished had catches of gray tilefish.
