• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today it was like a tennis match with the sun and rain clouds.  The rain and wind won in the end.  The rain and northeast winds will continue into tomorrow.  The temperature today was around 77.

There are no fishing reports for today, so I thought I would share some information.  The Cape Hatteras National Park Service has a facebook page and they do a pretty good job keep it up to date about the ramps and even posted a few pics of the overwash that has happened the last few days.  Check them out  Cape Hatteras National Park Service.

Daniel Pullen is a local photographer here.  He always ventures out before, during and after storms to capture mother nature at her best and worst.  Thanks Pullen!!  Here is his latest… HATTERAS FIRST EFFECTS OF JOAQUIN.

Caroline Jarvis is another local favorite.  Check out some of her shots from today on her facebook page. Caroline Jarvis Photography

The rain is back. Today the temperatures were in the lower 70’s. Winds were 5-10 mph from the North.

Fishing from the beaches was slow again today with all the rain. From the beach in Avon there was some sea-mullet caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

The weather has definitely improved from the past several days only to potentially get worse with Hurricane Joaquin.  We do hope the storm heads away from us.  The winds were from the south-west at 2-4 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

Up on the Avon beaches some puppy drum were caught.  Down around the Buxton beaches bluefish, some flounder and puppy drum were reported.

The inshore boats caught a few puppy drum today along with some bluefish in the Pamlico Sound.

A few offshore boats made it out today and they were rewarded with excellent dolphin fishing and a few wahoo and black fin tuna.
